By the time Daton got home the whole house was in an uproar. Chivalry was on the couch crying and Sessirah was screaming at someone on the phone. Daton went to Chivalry.

"What's going on?"

Chivalry shoved a piece of paper into his hands:

Mrs. Kinchen,

You are being court ordered to attend Holland Kinchen's trial. The trial is April 5th at noon. If you have any questions contact me at JBrooding@unitedlaw.comor call me at (791)-883-6925.

James Brooding

Daton's heart sank. Not only was Chivalry going to have to see Holland again, she was going to have to do it without him. He would be deployed by the time the trial started.

Daton looked at Chivalry. How was he going to break the news to her now? It was going to devastate her. Sessirah hung up the phone and sat down. At least someone would be here for Chivalry.

Daton took Chivalry's hand and she looked up at him. "What is it?"

"I just got back from work. General Wheyborn gave new new orders. I ship out in two weeks. I will be gone for two years."

Sessirah and Chivalry both gasped. Sessirah's face registered shock while Chivalry looked completely defeated. Daton wished Gavin was here. He could always make things better.

"After my two years are up I'm retiring from the Army. I will get a civilian job and be here for you and Teigan."

"Two years is so long."

"I know. I'm so sorry to do this to you, but orders are orders."

Chivalry nodded her head then laid her head on Daton's shoulder. Sessirah stood.

"Well that is that. Don't you two worry. Daton, you will deploy. Chivalry, Gavin and I will help you in any way we can. Everything is going to be just fine."

That said she walked from the room and left Chivalry and Daton alone.
