Chivalry was starting to get antsy. They had been sitting in the court room for three hours without a break. Her feet were swelling and the baby was pushing on her bladder so hard she was afraid she was going to wet all over herself.

So far things didn't look good for Holland. The judge has basically chewed him up and spat him back out. God seemed to be on her side today.

At that moment the judge ordered a recess for an hour. Chivalry shot out the room and to the bathroom at lightning speed. When she was finished she opened the door to the amused face of her mother.

"I take it you feel better?"

Chivalry smiled. "Yes. Now if I could just get something to eat."

Gavin was ushering them out the building when Mr. Wheyborn called Chivalry's name. "Mr. Kinchen would like a private word with you."

Sessirah was the first to respond. "Why the nerve of that..."

Chivalry put a hand on her arm to silence her. "I don't think it's such a good idea Mr. Wheyborn."

"Don't worry. A police officer and myself will be present as well."

Chivalry turned to Gavin and Sessirah.

"Don't do it!"

"I need to mother. I need some closure."

Gavin stepped in when it looked like Sessirah would argue. "Go ahead dear. We will go get you something to eat and meet you back here in thirty minutes."

Chivalry smiled then turned to follow Holland's lawyer. By the time they got to the room where Holland was being held Chivalry was so turned around she thought she would never find her way back.

As soon as the door was opened Holland stood up and smiled. "Thank you for seeing me."

Chivalry looked around. Mr. Wheyborn had kept his promise. A police officer stood beside him by the door. She sat down and looked at Holland.

"You look beautiful."

Chivalry smiled.

 "How are you?"

"Good. I've been stressed here lately. Daton just deployed for two years. Then there is court. Plus the baby will be here soon."

She didn't know why she just said all of that. Holland had always been easy to talk to and she did feel better saying it out loud.

"I'm so sorry love. I wish I could help you."

When Chivalry didn't respond he grabbed her hands and looked deep into her eyes. "I never meant to hurt you. I just wanted you for myself. I will never regret our time together. I still love you and always will."

Every question and sane thought flew out of Chivalry's mind. She couldn't form a sentence. She just sat there looking into the eyes of a man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with.

"You many never forgive me and I will understand but please don't make me spend my life not knowing my child though."

"You want me to drop the charges?"

"I just want my family back."

Chivalry stood up and started to pace.

"I'm sorry Chivalry. I....I'm just so sorry."

Chivalry sat back down. She was speechless and to make matters worse Holland was crying. That was her weakness. A few moments later she stood and turned to Holland's lawyer.

"Can you please escort me back?"

He nodded and opened the door. They walked in silence. Once she found Gavin and Sessirah Mr. Wheyborn turned to leave. He stopped, spun around, and grabbed Chivalry's arm.

"He really does love you. He asked about you every time we met."

Chivalry gave him a weak smile. He then turned and left without a backwards glance. Chivalry watched his retreating back and gave a long, loud sigh.
