Three days before court Holland sat at a table listening to his lawyer. Mr. Wheyborn was going on and on. Holland wanted to pay attention but his mind kept going to Chivalry and the baby.

"Holland did you hear a word I just said?"

"Sorry Mr. Wheyborn."

"Holland what I'm telling you is important."

"I know. I was just wondering about Chivalry and the baby."

"What do you want to know?"

"Will Chivalry be at the trial?"

"Yes."

Holland smiled. He couldn't wait to see her. He then frowned. That meant Daton would be at the trial as well.

"Do you think I will spend a lot of time in jail?"

"Holland, like I've said before..."

Before he could finish Holland asked another question. "Do you think when I'm free I could see my child?"

Mr. Wheyborn stood and started putting papers in his briefcase. "That is for the judge to decide. Good day Mr. Kinchen."

Three days. Three days until the judge decided his fate. Three days until he learned if his child would ever know their father.
