Because of Chivalry

Chapter Forty Seven

Holland's heart stopped. Chivalry had just collapsed right in front of him. An ambulance was called. Sessirah sat holding Chivalry trying to shake her awake. 

Holland wanted to hold Chivalry so bad but he knew that would cause more drama. He turned to his lawyer with fear in his eyes. 

"I will talk to the judge. You stay put."

Moments later paramedics pushed through with a gurney. They checked Chivalry's vitals and put her on the gurney. While they were strapping her in she came to. The first thing she said was Holland's name. He was at her side in the next moment.

She grabbed his hand. "Are you free?"

He looked to the judge who sighed and nodded his head. "You crazy kids get to the hospital. All charges against Holland Kinchen have been dismissed. Case closed."

He hit his gavel twice. Chivalry and Holland smiled at each other. The next instant Chivalry was crying out in pain. A paramedic checked her. 

"We need to go."

"What's wrong with her?"

"She's in labor."

Holland held Chivalry's hand all the way to the hospital. "You're doing great. We are about to have a baby love."

Chivalry smiled at his excitement. As soon as they reached the hospital things went so fast it seemed to Holland that time was standing still. Chivalry was hooked up to an iv, given an epidural, and was sound asleep. Doctors and nurses were constantly coming and going.

At one point a nurse poked her head in to ask if he needed something. "I'm okay, just anxious. I thought once she went into labor the baby would be here within the hour."

The nurse smiled. "It won't be long now. The doctors said she's at eight centimeters. She only has to gt to ten then she can start pushing."

Holland inhaled deeply and let it out slowly.

"First baby?"

"Yes."

"I can tell. Just relax. If there's anything you need just let me know."

After she left Holland pulled up a chair next to Chivalry. She was asleep but that was okay. She had set him free.
