You know that feeling you get before something bad is about to happen and you have no idea how to react. That's basically what I feel right now. It's currently 5am and I'm supposed to meet Lyra at the palace at 7am. I've been laying on my bed and staring at the ceiling for the past hour. It's pouring outside. The weather is adding to the hypophrenic feeling I have. The sky is grey and it's freezing outside. Werewolves can survive in cold temperatures so if I tell you it's cold, believe me - it's like a freezer here.

It's been there weeks since I've been here. I grew close to Liam and Storm. They've shown me friendship and kindness and I've developed a bond with them.

I woke up and got ready. I decided to go for a jog since I had some time to kill. The rain stopped. I was running past the palace when I spotted Liam. He waved and I stopped running.

"Waddup, Creep? You're awake really early? ", I smiled at him. He had a look of urgency and worry. He ran a finger through his damp, luscious hair and I looked at him - concerned about what was going on.

"Nothing. Just sorting out some paper work.I was supposed to sort it out yesterday but I was so busy. We found a few rogues at the border... An Alpha is coming today and Xander wants things to go smoothly. ", there was bags under his eyes.

"Let me help you, Liam. "

"You'd do that? Thank you so much Rebecca! " he exhaled a deep breath and pulled me into the palace. We were in an office. It smelled of Xander. It was his office. Everything was surprisingly neat. You could perform surgery in here-that's how clean it was.

"So these papers need to be stamped and that pile needs to be filed into that cubicle. ", he said in a hurried tone.

I nodded and got to work immediately. Within forty-five minutes I was almost done. I looked at the time and it was 6:23am. Liam busied himself with some papers next to me.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE? ", Xander shouted by the office door. He stepped towards me and he was angry. Rage radiated from his every pore.

"Why are you here? This room is meant for important people. ", Lyra appeared behind Xander.

Then why is she here? - Grace snapped.

She hides behind people with power because she's a helpless, pitiful creature. A lazy excuse for a she-wolf.

I was about to speak when Liam replied on my behalf.

"I asked her to help me with some filing. She may be an Omega now but she is our Luna-whether or not you accept it. ", he said calmly to Xander- edging Lyra to speak if she dared.

"She is not your Luna. She is an omega. ", Xander replied bluntly.

It's odd how he could be so nice one day and heartless the next.

I could sense I wasn't needed and I walked away. Lyra grabbed my arm while I was leaving.

"Since you're here, here's your chores for today- you skanky omega. ", she spat with venom lacing her every word. She smiled wickedly at me and I took the list. Xander smiled wickedly at me as well. My feelings was all just a game to him.

I walked away with tears in my eyes.

I was halfway done with my chores when I heard a familiar voice near the main palace doors. I sensed fear and being the idiot I am with my rogue-nature, I walked towards the familiar masculine voice and that's when I saw him - Alpha Jacob. I dropped the detergents I held in shock creating a noise. I was stone cold and my eyes filled with tears and horror. Grace whimpered and I stood in shock.

Xander, Lyra and liam were greeting him and they all looked at me. Alpha Jacob looked at me and smiled. That very smile changed everything. I ran away, as quick as I could.

He knows where we are now.- I told Grace while I panicked. Grace was always calmer than me. We were complete opposites. I was out going and she was quite and calm but when she got angry, heads rolled-literally.

"He's going to take us back to that hell-hole! We can't go back there, Grace. ", I said. My body was shaking and I was ready to leave.

"Rebecca! Relax. He can't harm us here. We're in the royal pack. He won't make a move here with the alpha king present. Just take a deep breath in. ", She said calmly. I was having a panick attack. She calmed me down.

I continued breathing slowly. In and out.
I managed to avoid him the entire day.
I went to water the plants as it was one of my chores. The garden was huge. It was full of blooming flowers giving of a variety of scents. Tall trees grew thick and birds rested at a bird feeder. A small stream flowed here. It was beautiful... I was one with nature. The birds chirped and the sunshine warmed my back as I watered the thriving plants.

I heard a creak and I felt as if I was being watched. I sensed danger and then I felt a sharp pain on the back of my head. I was hit.

I turned around and my fangs and claws came out. I saw Alpha Jacob.

"Becca, Becca, Becca... what a lovely surprise to see you here. Put those away before you hurt yourself. ", He said with a monotone voice while referring to my claws.

I whimpered and so did Grace. He laughed sadistically. I was still afraid of him. No matter how far I go he will always have a hold on me - I see that now

I was mortified. I couldn't believe he was standing in front in me. The demon that haunts my dreams and dwells on my conscious all the time stood in front of me.

"If you scream, your mate will learn who you really are. Rebecca Blake-that's what you're calling yourself now? Well Miss 'Bluewood', I noticed your ranking. Trouble in paradise? If you tell anyone I was with you I'll tell this entire pack how you killed your parents... and what a slutty bitch you were in my pack! "He said angrily.

I was crying profusely. I covered my ears.
"I didn't kill them. You're lying. I didn't kill them I was innocent."

He struck my cheek and drew blood. I couldn't fight back. The memories of my past flooded my mind - the darkness - the basement - the constant beatings and words of hatred. It was all coming back to me. The memories I wanted to forget resurfaced.

"Who would believe you? It's my word-the word of an alpha over the word of one meesly, weak omega", He walked away.

He was right. He was right! After all these years of runing away from him and he still had so much of control over me. He was right - I am weak. I can't do this! I really can't!

I walked to my chambers, locked my bedroom door and I began to fill the tub with warm water and sat inside. I was broken. I couldn't do this anymore. He knows where I am now and I can't run away from here... or my past.

Rebecca! What are you doing. No. Stop! stop! -Grace cried out.

I pushed her away and took a blade to my wrists and I cut deeply.

"This is worse than running away.", Grace screamed and her voice became softer each second.

Finally I had peace and quiet. No mate - no Alpha Jacob.
