The guards and I have been trying to track Xander for the past half an hour. We were running out of time.
"Luna, I've picked up a scent heading east. "a guard said and I began driving in an easterly direction.
I drove at such a fast speed that I was afraid I would warp into the future. I gripped the wheel so tight that my knuckles turned white. I fixed my gaze ahead of me. I was driving on a dirt road... it was far from any human settlements. It was non-existent to anyone who didn't know about my world.
We tend to ignore the things that are important because we busy ourselves with things that aren't.
As I drove the scent of bloodshed hit my nostrils. A cloud of smoke grew larger as I drove.
When loud screams were audible I hit the breaks so hard that a guard next to me hit his head on the dash board. He rubbed his head and he was fine. I got out of the car as quick as I could and began running to the war that produced sanguinary results. The scent of blood grew stronger and the cries of men and wolves howling became louder.
I was too late - war had already erupted. I was too late.
Wolf on wolf and man on man. The sound of metal clashing together and people screaming as they were being slaughtered boomed throughout the Warfield. There were just as many rogues as there were soldiers. We were loosing.
I had to find Xander. I ran into the crowd and picked up a sword that a fallen guard had in his hand. I was fuming - Jacob has caused to much suffering. I have to end this once and for all.
The field was busy. Blood was splattered on the ground and dead bodies were sprawled all over the place. Decapitated rogues were thrown around and fires were lit. The sun was setting and the sky was an orange blanket that provided enough light to see one's enemy.
A rogue ran up to me and slicked his throat open with a triumphant scream. I was in a rage and I couldn't stop killing those who wanted to harm my people - I showed no mercy to those who wanted to harm my mate.
I fought bravely and stood my ground. The echoing of screams and the shed of blood erupted as I got into the heart of it all.
I had to fight my way into the middle if the crowd. My heart beat rose and I was sweaty. I was killing anyone in sight who wasn't in our side.
The scene of the fight was filled with horror and coldness. Innocent people were dead. People stepped over their bodies as if it were nothing.
I was fighting long and hard. My sweat stung my eyes All around was nothing but a whirlwind of disorder and violence, a blur of colour and vicious motion.
Blood pounded in the ears. I heard a shrill shout from behind me. It was high pitched and I turned to face whoever the sound belonged to.
"Kiara Hale. You dare defy your own family. ", I raised my sword.
"I disowned Xander the day he accepted you as a mate. ", she struck and I blocked her. She was fast but not as fast as me.
"He trusted you! ", I struck her and she moved.
"I hate you- you bought this upon yourself. The king of the rogues has sided with us. It's not long now until Xander gets what's coming to him. ", she smirked. The king of rogues was here and e was fighting against us.
I could hear the cries of men, the screams of injured beasts, and the thunder of steel striking steel. Pain from a dozen wounds barely registered. Above the lower scent of sweat was the acidic smell of all pervasive fear, carried aloft from clashing bodies that howled amidst a sea of scarlet liquid which drained from friend and foe alike, to soak a once vibrant field of yellow flowers.
