Everything around me was muffled and quiet. I couldn't see anything else but Xander and the huge wolf which stood before him. Xander and the man shifted. Xander's wolf was smaller than his opponents. My heart was in my throat and I couldn't think straight.

The bigger wolf - Mason (I found out his name as everyone spoke about him and his anger issues) snapped his teeth aggressively.

They circled each other for a while which added to the tension. Mason leaned forward and snapped his jaws towards Xander's neck. Xander moved swiftly and attacked Mason's hind leg. He bit it and we all heard a thunderous noise. Mason's leg broke but he still fought. Mason Jumped onto Xander's back and they both growled. Xander howled as Mason bit into his neck. I I stepped forward instantly but Liam held me back.

He came out of nowhere.
"This is something you can not interfere in. ", he said seriously.

I had no choice but to watch the bloodbath in front of me.

Xander stepped towards Mason and clawed at him. Mason howled and lifted his paws up and struck Xander. There was a lot of blood now.

Mason tackled Xander to the ground. At this point Mason had the upper hand. Mason shifted back to his human form and grabbed Xander by the neck. I knew what was going to come next. Xander struggled under his grip and I couldn't watch this barbaric act. My mate needed me and I couldn't help.

Xander growled loudly and with one move, he bit Mason's arm and shifted back to his human form. He dragged Mason on the floor.

Mason bit Xander's arm. He jumped on Xander and clawed his abdomen all the way from his chest to his belly. He punched him and kicked his body until he was bleeding out.

He knelt bellow him and began to strangle him.

"I'm going to kill you, then I'm going to make your mate my bitch and then I'll kill her in front of the whole pack. ", he said.

Xander growled and with one swift move he got up and ripped Mason's head of his body with his bare hands. Mason's head rolled on the floor and Xander was covered with so much blood. He won!

He began to breath heavily and collapsed. I ran towards him and I felt a weak pulse.

"Xander, please wake up, don't leave me! ", I said with tears.

He brought his index finger to my face and traced my jaw. His hand went limp and I howled. We took him to the pack doctor immediately.

He has been in the operation room for three hours and we haven't received any news about his condition. I was distraught. Storm hugged me while I sat outside the room. I didn't speak nor did I cry. I just stared at the door and waited for any news.

I couldn't think about anything else other than Xander.

He's not dead. He's not dead. I can feel his wolf. - Grace howled.

She's been saying that for a while now. She's comforting herself.

We haven't had enough time... We need more time. I didn't get to tell him how much I love him. This was so pathetic... while he fought for his life I built a wall of pain around myself.

I tapped into our mind link.

King Xander Hale, don't leave me... not now. We haven't had enough time. Please. Stay with me. I can't live life without you. I need you. I love you. You're my life - if you go... just stay with me. I don't known if you can here this but if you can - fight, fight for me.

There was no response... only silence.
A single tear escaped my eye.

"He's going to be alright. ", Storm squeezed my hand reassuringly.

I nodded.

A few hours later the doctor opened the door. He was an old man with many wrinkles. He had brown eyes and a bald head.

"Luna, King Xander is ok... he's lost a lot of blood but he'll be ok. He needs some time to recover... He's out cold because of the herbs we have him. He'll come around. Just be patient. ", he said softly.

Storm smiled and Liam hugged both of us.

"Thank the moongoddess! ", Liam rejoiced and sighed.

I took a deep breath.

"Can I see him? ", I teared. I must have sounded so awful. My voice was horse and parched.

"Yes, right this way Luna. ", he bowed.

I went into the room and he laid on the bed... unconscious.

I sat beside him and took his hand in mine. I kissed it and held it close to my chest.

"You're going to be ok... You'll make it through this. The doctor said you lost a lot of blood. ", I began to tear up.

He's my pillar of strength. Now that he's hurt, the tables have turned. I don't have him around to tell me it's going to be ok.

I stayed by his side the entire night. I couldn't leave him.

"Rebecca, come and eat something... you need your strength.", Storm said.

"I'm not hungry... I can't eat knowing he is in this condition. "

Storm knew better than to protest so she left me with Xander.

I held his hand the entire night and rested my head next to him.

"I want to be here when he wake up... ", I told Liam and Storm and they smiled.

"Storm, you need to rest... go to sleep ok. All this stress isn't good for you. ", I said with a small smile.

"No, I'm not leaving you. ", she protested.

"Please, It will mean the world to me. "

Liam smiled at her and leaded her away.

I stayed up the entire night - waiting.
