No One But You (Draco X Reader)

Chapter 23

Weekend had passed and another student has been petrified. Professor Sprout's mandrakes are being taken care of for the cure. And everyone else is terrified to what is happening around.

"No more roaming around. No going out without permission and someone with you. Stay at your dorm, your room to be exact. No more staying out late" Chase has been reminding you for the nth time today as you make your way to the library.
"Chase, I get it. I'll be careful and I'll be safe" you told him snaking your hand to his arm. He let out a sigh and kissed your forehead.
"Okay. But remember..." Chase started once again
"Chase!" you exclaimed
"Okay, okay. You promise?" he eyed you
"As long as you promise as well" you told him
"I promise" he said and you two took each other's wrist to seal the deal.

You were both doing your assignments in the library when something happened. There was a scream back at the library near the restricted section. The both of you decided to check what was it. You froze when you saw a girl petrified. And your eyes sting as you looked at who it was. Hermione.

You followed madam Pince to the infirmary to put Hermione in rest. Chase was following behind you to check on you. As you reached the door of the hospital, Chase excused you for a minute as professor McGonagall went to look for Harry and Ron.

"You need to go to your dorm now" Chase told you
"I wanna stay to look at Hermione" you said with teary eyes. Chase looked at you with concern.
"Okay. But wait for me. I'll come get you before dinner. Okay?" he told you
"Okay" you nodded and he went on his way.

When you were about to enter the hospital, you saw Draco who just came out.
"What are you doing in there?" you asked him
"Uhm..I wanted to see who was the student who got petrified just now. So,..." Draco stuttered
"Oh, okay" you told him
"We better go now" he told you
"No. I'm gonna wait here for Chase and I'll look after Hermione. Just go on and tell Caleb" you told him
"Okay. But be careful. If something happens, yell Malfoy" Draco told you
"You're being funny" you smiled at him
"Just to clear the tears in your eyes" he smiled.
"Thanks" you told him
"Okay. I'll go now" he told you and went on his way.

Just then, Harry, Ron and professor McGonagall came in. You hugged Harry and Ron and went in to look after Hermione. A few minutes passed and professor McGonagall left the three of you. Just then, Harry took a paper from Hermione's hand.

"What is that?" you asked Harry
"It's a clue. Hermione found it!" Harry exclaimed
"Found what?" you asked
"The one petrifying the students around here" Harry looked at you
"What is it?" you nervously asked and he gave you the paper. You swallowed as if you were the one going to be petrified next. Ron just looked at you and Harry then the paper and he too got nervous.

"What are we going to do?" you asked them as you walked out the hospital.
"I don't know yet" said Harry just in time when your brother came in.
"Hey, you three. Dinner's ready" Chase said and you followed him to the great hall.

You all went to your own tables to get some dinner. You sat down next to Caleb who was worried.
"Are you okay? Is Hermione fine? Draco told me" he told you as you sat down
"Yeah. I'm fine. And I hope Hermione too" you said with a frown
"She'll be. Professor Sprout is doing everything for the cure" he assured you and you just nodded.

After dinner, Chase guided you down the halls to your dorm when you saw Harry and Ron.
"Harry, where are you going?" you asked him when you saw them going to the wrong direction
"Oh, Y/N. We're uh...we're.." Harry stuttered
"You guys better go back to your dorm now" Chase told them and Harry just looked at him
"Okay. Come on now, Harry" Ron said and dragged Harry to their dorm.

That night, you can't sleep because of worry. You wrote a letter to Liam telling what's happening. It was past midnight when you drifted to sleep.

The next day you woke up, a letter was sitting down your table. It was from Liam.

Candy,

Take good care of yourself. I told Chase to look after you. Be observant in your surroundings. Don't go anywhere without someone with you. And if anything happens, call on a professor or write a letter to me. I'll be there in a lightning.

I love you so much. Please be safe

Liams's letter calmed you down. It seems like the worry has been lessened. You then took a shower and went down to have your breakfast. Your friends were just there sitting in there usual place doing nothing. You then saw Harry and Ron.

"Harry, Ron" you called them
"Oh, hey Y/N" said Ron
"What are you guys planning to do?" you asked them
"I don't know yet" said Harry and you just nodded. You all then went to your table and have some breakfast and go on with the day.

After your classes, you were on your way down the great hall with Andrea and Millicent to have so me free time.
You were at the door of the great hall when you saw Ron and Harry. You excused yourself from your friends and told them you'll follow so they entered the great hall.

"Harry, Ron" you called them. They turned around for you, and you saw Ron near to tears.
"Ron, what happened?" you asked worried
"They took Ginny" he told you
"What!? Who did!?" you asked
"She's down the Chamber of Secrets" said Harry. You stared at them shocked and hugged Ron.
"We'll get her back" you stated
"What? No. You're not coming with us" Harry told you
"What? Why not!?" you exclaimed but not loud so that no one else could hear you
"It's too dangerous!" said Harry
"No. I'm coming. You don't have Hermione with you so you're going to need me" you said and Harry couldn't do anything else.

The three of you then went through the halls then in the girl's bathroom. Harry talked to Moaning Myrtle for some help and she did have helped. As Harry opened the entrance to the Chamber of secrets, you were ready to get in with it but nervous as well. Harry looked at you with worry.

"Y/N. Don't do it. Stay here. Go back to your dorm" Harry said
"What? No" you told him
"Y/N it's dangerous down there. Who knows what would happen" said Ron
"Exactly! That's why I need to come with you" you said
"No. I can't risk another friend's safety" Harry said and you just stared at him then to Ron.
"But I want to help" you said
"Help us by staying safe" said Harry and you just stared at them silent.
"Please?" Harry asked
"We promise we'll be safe as long as you are" said Ron. You stared at them for awhile
"Okay" you gave in "But promise me you'll come back safe and sound" you said
"We promise" said Harry and you hugged him. And when you let go, you hugged Ron.

It was already late when you went back to your dorm. You thought your friends were probably asleep by now. When you entered your common room, two of your friends are waiting for you. Caleb and Draco.

"Where have you been!?" Caleb exclaimed as he saw you
"I was just in the girl's bathroom" you told him
"For that long!? You didn't even get dinner! Something could've happen to you! We even did cover ups to Chase!" Caleb exclaimed. You know your best friend too well. He's not mad. He's worried sick. So you hugged him
"I'm sorry. But I'm safe now" you told him
"I know. Just don't do it again" Caleb sighed and hugged you back and you just nodded.
"Okay. Let's go to sleep" he said when he let you go and went up to their room.

"Draco?" you called before Draco could step on the stairs
"Yes?" he asked you
"I know what you did there" you told him
"What are you talking about?" he asked
"The paper. I know you put it in Hermione's hand. Because if it was there the whole time she got petrified, professor McGonagall could've noticed it" you told him
"Well.....you got me" he said
"I was wondering why though" you said standing in front of him
"Well, they're your friends....... And it's the least I could do for-" and he was cut off
