Therese's POV
"Chase, if you could just listen" I told Chase over and over again. We were going down the stairs to the great hall for breakfast before we head to our classes.
"You know your sister better than anyone here. Do you think she'd do that?" I ask him once again
"Yes. Yes I think, no, I know she'd do that" Chase told me stopping on his way
"With no apparent reason?" I ask him once again
"Maybe" that's he said before going down the great hall.
I followed him and sat down our usual place at the table. While he scan the Slytherin table for a certain girl, I did too. Apparently, he saw who he has been looking for. And I didn't.
She didn't came down for dinner last night. And now, no breakfast. I wonder how she's doing. That girl loves food to skip a meal. But I guess she loves her brother way more than food.
I saw her friends stood up already. And I wanted to know how she is.
"Where are you going?" Chase asked as he grabbed my arm
"I'm going to Caleb. To check on YOUR sister" I told him and made my way to Caleb and their friends.
Chase's POV
Check on her? What could she be doing right....now? She didn't have breakfast. She's just being childish. I stood up and followed Therese to tell her not to bother. Because my sister is being a child again.
Too late. She's with Caleb and their friends. But I'm gonna stop her anyways.
"How is she?" Therese asked
"She's fine. I guess" said Caleb
"Of course she's fine. Skipping breakfast won't kill her or make her ill" I said not thinking who I'm talking about
"Chase! How could you!?" Therese exclaimed
"Yeah. Maybe. Just like skipping dinner" said Caleb
"Caleb, you know her. She'll be just fine. She's always like that"
"Yeah. And I don't know you anymore" said Caleb. And somehow, it made me feel angry.
"You don't care that your sister had tears for dinner. What kind of brother are you?" Malfoy spat at me
I was about to leave. But I won't let these boys tell what I should've done. I'm her brother and I'm older than her.
"And you know what, it's not the first time" I spat at the young Malfoy
"Maybe not. But I guess, for the first time, it's because of you!" Malfoy exclaimed at me. It struck me. I don't know why. But it struck me.
"Come on. We better check on Y/N" said Malfoy. And so they did leave
"You know what, Caleb's right. You've changed" Therese told me
"Everyone does. And it's time my sister should to" I told her
"Everyone changes, yes. But it should be the good way. You know what, you're the one being childish. Not your sister" Therese said and made her way out the great hall.
I stood there frozen. Until Natasha came.
"Hey, what happened? Are you okay?" she asked me
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine" I told her
"Don't worry about them. They're opinions doesn't matter. What matters is yours" she told me. And I just nodded and smiled weakly at her.
Your POV
"Hey" you greeted your friends as they got back from the great hall
"Here. Have an apple" Andrea said with a smile handing you a green apple
"Let's go?" you asked them
"We should. Before we get late" said Blaise. You got your bags and went on
You're walking on your way to your first class with the Gryffindors and Caleb and Draco seems to be so quiet.
"What happened?" You asked Blaise, Andrea and Millicent
"They had an argument with your brother" said Blaise
"You will surely appreciate what those two did for you" said Millicent
"Yes. Like a knight in shining armor" whispered Andrea
"Is Chase, still mad?" you asked
"Kinda. Yes" said Blaise
You just look down until you reached the door of your first class. Before entering, you hugged Caleb.
"Thanks, Caleb. You're always there for me" you told him as he hugged you back
"I'll always be" he said as you let go
"Thanks, Draco" you said as you hugged Draco
"You're always welcome" he told you hugged you back
"Well, we better get inside" you told them as you let go of Draco. And all of you then went inside.
After a long day of classes. You decided to stay at the library and out of sight of anyone. You thought it was better that way. You were ashamed to what happened between you and your brother.
After some time, your friends, Andrea and Millicent, came for you.
"Hey, let's go grab some dinner" Andrea said
"Yeah. You need to eat you know" said Millicent
"Go ahead. I'll br fine" you smiled at them
"Are you sure you're fine?" Millicent asked
"Yeah. I'll just be in the astronomy tower. And I'll be down after dinner" you told them
"Okay. I'll bring you some food" Andrea said. Then the three of you went out the library and straight to the great hall they go. As for you, straight to the astronomy tower.
You were just relaxing at the astronomy tower. Leaning on the wall with your eyes closed. Feeling the cold breeze with your books on your arms.
"Are you alright?" a voice of a familiar boy asked you
"Oh, hey. Yeah, I'm fine. Kind of" you smiled weakly at him
"Can I, sit down?" he asked
"Oh, of course" you told him and he sat down next to you.
"Your brother told me everything" he said
"I know. You're his best friend" you told him
"Therese also told me the other side of the story" he told you and you just nodded
"You should tell him. He'd understand" he told you
"I wish I could. But he won't listen" you told him
"I'm sure he will. You just have to build the courage to try again" he told you and you just nodded.
You went silent for awhile.
"Cedric, don't you think he changed?" you asked the boy sitting beside you
"Yes. Yes, he changed a lot" he told you
"Ever since, when?" you asked
"Since the time he started going out with Natasha. And by the time you were telling him Natasha's not the kind of girl she really is" he told you
"Do you think it's my fault?" you asked him
"No. Of course not. It's his choice and it's his decision to do so" he told you
"Why did he have to change?" you stated
"Everyone will change at some point" he told you
"Well, he told me to. He told me to grow up" you told him
"You know, you're brother may have said some things. But he doesn't mean all the things he said" Cedric told you
"You think so?"you asked
"I know so. He may have changed, but he still Chase. He's still your brother" Cedric assured you with a smile
"Thanks, Cedric" you told him and hugged him
"Your very much welcome" he said as he hugged you back.
"Ready to go down?" he asked you as you let go
"Yes" you smiled at him.
He helped you up and helped you with your things. And straight down you go. You were walking on the corridors when you see prefects searching around for students. Luckily, Cedric is a prefect.
"There you are" said a prefect from Hufflepuff "Everyone is gathered in the great hall" he added
"What? Why?" Cedric asked
"The fat lady from the Gryffindor painting have been scared out of her painting. And three big scratch was left on it" the prefect explained
"Sirius Black" you said
"That's why we need to get there, now" said the prefect and the three of you went on your way
As you reached the great hall, everyone was there. And you see your friends came running to you.
"Y/N! You're okay!" Andrea exclaimed
"We're so worried" said Caleb
"I'm fine. I'm with Cedric Diggory" you told them
"Your brother's best friend?" Caleb asked
"Yeah. And he comforted me" you smiled at them
"It's nice he understands you" Draco said
"Yeah. He's very understanding" you told them
"Let's go get some rest?" Blaise suggested
"Okay" you sighed
You then all went on your places. Millicent got you some pillows and Andrea got you a blanket. Your friends stayed close to you the whole night.
