"Everyone get your places," a crew guy yelled. "The show will start in three, two..." he counted down until one, he signaled go.
Drake went up on stage for the introduction. He called out for the judges. He went on to explain what was to happen tonight while the four judges went to sit in their designated seats.
"Ok, as you all may know, this week is Disney week. So everyone will sing one song from a Disney movie. And the first one up is Darcy! Give her a round of applause," Drake announced, getting off stage as the lights dimmed and Darcy went up on stage dressed as Belle and began to sing Beauty and the Beast.
The judges all gave her very good comments that when she left the stage she couldn't stop a huge smile forming on her lips.
I congratulated her and wished her luck for the results tomorrow.
"Huh, what a joke," Katriel chested, jutting her chin out. Head held high, she acted like she was better than us.
"Who does she think she is," I hughed annoyed by her by now.
"She's not worth getting all worked up and about. You should get ready, aren't you on in thirty," Darcy looked down at her wrist at her pretend watch that wasn't there. She smirked knowing she's right on her prediction.
"Yeah, ok," I pouted, slouching as I walked my way to the dressing room, which was all that was left for me to do, change. I had make-up and hair ready to go.
"Let's go. I'll help you. Might get my jitters down and over with," she smiled, a bounce in her step. I wasn't like her. I usually felt weary after shows and tired, I could just curl up on the floor, just pass me a blanket to keep warm and I'd be out in a blink of an eye. I may be exaggerating, but it's the best way to get my point through.
"What song will you be doing," Darcy asked as she spinned in the swivel chair by the vanity, while I got dressed, Lila helping me.
"Um, How Far I'll go from Moana," I answered as I dressed behind a screen that covered enough of me, not including the sides. "I have a dance routine to go with it too."
I slipped into some light brown shorts then the same colored Hawaiian skirt. A hot pink crop top that had strings to tie around the neck. I wore dark brown sandals that crisscrossed all along the top of my feet, up until the ankles where they stop.
Once I was sure I had everything I walked out from behind the screen.
"You look beautiful," Lila complemented, placing a flower behind my ear.
"I agree with Lila," Darcy smiled, wide and big, looking excited.
"Thank you, you two." I smiled right back. "Is it almost time?"
"Yeah," And there she goes again, looking down at her nonexistent watch. "After Second Chance."
"Once you win this thing, I'm going to get you a watch as a congratulation gift." I said without a thought as we walked out the door. Ready to hop on stage and kill it.
"You think I'm going to win," she asked, talking serious now, a curious smile on her lips.
I paused to look at her, reflecting what I just said.
"Yeah, I believe you have potential and your voice is amazing." I spoke as people worked around me, getting me ready for my turn. "But don't let my words get to you just yet. I know it could get people to become more frantic than to begin with. Don't worry, I'll say it again in a month, tops." I gave her a friendly wink before making my way on stage.
The lights were shinning bright forcing me to squint so I could see the audience and judges in front of me.
"We're shooting in three, two,..." The camera person signaled one before rolling.
