Chapter 3

Lucy P.O.V.

Erza ran for hours. We just crossed the mountain and were at the other side of the mountain. Suddenly Erza stopped. "Looks like we are at the border of a pack." She said. I jumped from Erza her back. I shifted my arms and legs in my wolf form. Erza looked at me and wanted to say something. But I was faster and said: "It's okay Erza. You need to spare your energy so I will run along with you from here."

Erza didn't respond, but nodded. Together we crossed the border and ran as fast we could through the territory from a pack. After three hours, we were at the border. Luckily, we didn't meet any pack members. We walked into the mountains and got a view from the next territory. It was a lot bigger than the previous one. "Let's find a place to stay so we can sleep for a few hours." Proposed Erza. She shifted back to her human form.

I was about to answer, but suddenly I collapsed. Erza reacted fast and caught me in time. "Lucy," she said worried. I looked at Erza and said: "It's okay Erza, I'm just tired. It's nothing worse." Before I could say something else, Erza picked me up and carried me. She cursed. "Lucy, when was the last time you had a decent meal?" I didn't answer directly. "I don't know, I only got bread and water. Nothing more."

Erza growled. She put me down and took my bag. Then she took a sleep bag and gave it to me. She started to make a fire. I wanted to help, but Erza stared at me and said: "You are not going to help. You need to rest, in meantime I will cook a decent meal for us." I wanted to protest, but with Erza her glance I didn't dare to say anything back. I closed my eyes and not a minute later I was asleep.

Erza P.O.V.

I made a fire and made with the supplies a decent dinner for us. "How could she survive that for six years?" I saw how Lucy was fast asleep. I smiled a bit. She looked small and weak, but I knew better than everyone she wasn't like that. From all people that I ever met or knew, Lucy was the strongest person.

I took two plates and filled it with food. I walked to Lucy and woke her up. "Lucy, dinner is ready. You need to eat." I said. Lucy woke up and wanted to stand up. But I was faster and gave her a plate. She took it with a smile. I sat beside her and saw how fast she ate her food. She stopped when she felt how I looked at her. "Sorry," she said. I shook my head and said: "It's okay Lucy, I know you are hungry. Just eat as much as you can." Lucy smiled back and started back to eat. I followed her and began to eat.

After a while we both filled our stomach. We sat next to each other, under our sleep bags. I looked at Lucy and said: "Lucy, I never thanked you for saving my life." Lucy smiled at me and answered: "You know I will do anything for you Erza, you will do the same thing for me." I smiled back because she was right. "Your wolf is really beautiful." Lucy looked at me and said: "Thank you."

But I saw she wanted to say something else, but she swallowed her words. "Hey," I said and took her in a hug. "You can say everything to me. All these years, you sat there in the dark. Alone and isolated from everyone. Okay you had your link, but it's different when you speak to someone you can see." Lucy her smile disappeared. "I'm afraid Erza," she said. I hugged her a little bit tighter. "I never told you, but when I change in my wolf form, my emotions play a big role in it. I can lose my control when I'm in my wolf form." I didn't say anything. She knew I was listening. "When Hades came to me, I had to change in my wolf. He wanted to control me, to tame me. But I never transformed for him. He tortured me day and night till I transformed. But I never did." I growled a little bit.

Lucy took my hand and said: "But one day everything went wrong. One day, he came to my cell. He brought me to the interrogation room. But in the room sat another person, a boy. His name was Lyon Fullbuster. Hades ordered me to transform, or he would kill him." I stiffed when I heard Lucy her words. I saw how tears fell over Lucy her cheeks. "Of course, I couldn't let Hades kill him. Before I knew it, the boy was tortured in my place. In defeat, I transformed for him. Hades just smirked. But he just tortured the boy further. My anger rose in my body.

But then I saw the look from that boy. And that was the first time I could use my link. He begged me to kill him." I didn't know what to say. I felt how Lucy shivered. I kept her close to me. "I didn't want it, but his cries and begs filled my head. And before I knew it, my emotions took over. I walked forward and..." Lucy paused for a second. "I killed that boy Erza. I couldn't control myself anymore, and I killed him." Tears streamed over Lucy her cheeks. I hugged her tightly and tried to comfort her.

After few minutes, Lucy calmed down and spoke further. "I saw how he bled to death, but before he died, he thanked me and I need to look after his brother. Then he died, and I snapped. My wolf took my body over and I attacked Hades, but he survived. Six wolves were needed to restrain me. They gave me three injections with wolfs bane. After that day, I was lost in my mind. I was so lost, I almost tried to kill myself." I looked with widened eyes at Lucy. I knew she had it hard, but I never knew it was so hard.

"I really wanted to die. But then I heard your voice Erza." I looked surprised at Lucy. "I heard your prayers. Prayers for Levy, your parents, and also for me." Lucy looked at me and smiled. "From that moment, I knew that I couldn't give up. I had you and Levy. So, I trained. I trained my body, my emotions, but also my link. And one day my training was a success, because I reached you." I didn't know what to say.

I just took Lucy in a big hug and said: "Lucy, I'm so sorry." Lucy looked at me with a confused look. "For what Erza?" She asked. "For not being there with you, when you needed us the most." Lucy only smiled at me and hugged me back. "You are now here Erza." I nodded and answered: "That's right, and will never let you go again." With those words, we fell asleep.
