Oh, the unfortunate people that try so hard and fail
To become something more
But they are just to frail

They pursue the pointless endeavor to be what they are not
Many try so hard and still they are forgot

They try to be people that can be looked up to and praised
But most of these poor people they end up in a daze

A swirl of life too mixed up and unsure
A puddle of mistakes within which they curl up like a broken cur

For some of these forgotten people failing is the only choice
Even for the people that thought success was their only voice

They say "We see it in the movies if you try so hard you will succeed
If you get rid of greed you find you already have what you need"

But for some of them this fact is just not true
For some sad people the bottom is full of glue

Not only are they stuck but soon; so soon
They'll drown
It doesn't matter to the successful much; they aren't around

Yes, you see for the ones that are in pain
Sometime they don't succeed but instead they become a stain
They get flooded by the hardship the pain and the disgrace
Of having come from so little and made it to no better of a place

They give no sympathy for those that are not like them
They have no empathy left; not one drop within them

They know what it's like
For success to be out of reach

They know what it's like to be thought of as a leech
A lowdown dirty useless piece
That sleeps upon the floor

They know what it's like but even if you're the same they don't care
They don't want to help; they know it won't get better - filling you with hope just isn't fair

So they'll say
"Come stand with the fallen; we're broken but we don't care
Come sit with the unsightly; we don't care if you stare
Come lay by the broken; we aren't going anywhere"
