We're all waiting for the brand new year
We're all saying that its almost here
Well the days keep rolling; the hours fly by
Not one single person dares to ask why
The minutes go by
And the seconds go on
I'm still here, but for how long?
Still, alive for now... I guess
But what have I to show?
I'm still breathing I suppose
But for how long?
Nobody knows
We're all still waiting for another birthday
We're all gonna go ahead — piss life away
Well time ticks on; the trees still sway
But no one is around to witness them today
As eons go by
And decades go on
I'm still here, but for how long?
I'm alive — at least that's what they tell me I guess
I'd like to believe, but I've got nothing to show — I confess
Though I'm still breathing I suppose
But for how long?
