There were days when my lost love hurt my heart
There are days when the love I never gave tears me apart
All the times I didn't let her know
Every time I almost spoke but let her go
Every day that she walked away
Never knowing how badly I wanted her to stay
All the times my eyes searched hers for love
And hers searched mine for meaning
Though she never found much there
My eyes so dark; almost black
I let her go; slip away
I'd thought I'd see her again another day
But then I didn't
And I'm crying
I always thought she'd come back for one more day
Then she didn't and I'm dying
