One day my words will mean something to you
It'll be years from now when we've parted ways
You be sitting alone learning things you never knew
When suddenly you'll realise you're the only one that stays
I told you "Life is something we all live for and something we all make our own
Its something hard we all have to do
Even if we end up all alone"
But you still just didn't have a clue
You ran off and never looked back
Well then one day you learned what I said was true
So you grabbed your bags and started to pack
You got on a commercial airliner and away it flew
You called me up as you reached the sky
I said "Hello, have you called again to say goodbye?"
You said "No, I called to ask you why?"
I laughed and said "Why did I tell you the truth? Well to save you... Or at least try"
You took a deep breath and said the only thing I'll never forget
"No, I mean why didn't you tell me you loved me? Why did you make me figure it out on my own"
I said "Because I didn't think it was time to say it yet"
"You knew I'd figure it out when I was alone"
"I didn't know you would figure it out, I only hoped"
You smiled and said "Well hope no longer I love you too"
Then it was I who took a deep breath and thanked the world for without you I couldn't have coped
We smiled at eachother with a fresh love that we never knew
