What about a bad thought makes it the most captivating
It makes us feel the worst but it clouds up our whole mind
We can't think of happy things and there's no relief to find
I think a bad thought is just that and nothing more
So why whenever I try to forget it I just recall it more
Why when I try to think a happy thought the bad one creeps right in
You'd figure if I was so scared of the thought my mind would let me win
No, the dark idea makes its way around
And so I stand scared, no better; no faired – stuck straight to the ground
And when the grip that is my own mind finally let's me go
Yes, you see there's nowhere I'll go save right back to the thought that started it all you know
