I woke with a killer nightmare
But I'm only afraid of my dreams

Good enough for someone, anyone better than me

They show me things that I'll never be
My nightmares they own me

They wait and wonder about when I'll finally sleep
They take me and break me

If only the world wasn't as sick as it seems
If only my dreams weren't as good as they seemed
If only the light wasn't so far away
If only the nighttime would just go away
Please hold me and take away all of my dreams
They'll leave me if only my life is as good as they seem
I know me; I'm not as good as I seem
But please hold me; I'm only afraid of my dreams
