The Colorado airport was one of the largest he had ever been in and it always amazed him that people were like ants in function and form. It was as if everyone was imbedded with a chip in their brain telling them exactly where to go once they got off the airplane. Kyle must have fallen asleep and missed the implant that they passed out peanuts for he felt lost and just started following people until he saw a sign that pulled him in the direction he needed. Kyle rented a car for the day that was standard enough to get him to each of his destinations while blending in with the flow of traffic and save from having to pull into a station for gas.

The Justice building wasn't unlike any other police station across the country with the not so quite pristine white walls in its block style structures. Kyle liked to think that the walls at least stayed bright on the first day they were painted before the darks secrets of people's lives in files started to dull them from inside the building. Kyle shook hands with Captain Daniel Shipley who was an averagely built man with short legs but had many recognition awards on the walls of his office indicating he was quick on his feet and excellent at solving puzzles. Then Kyle was honored to meet the Medical Examiner Greg Tau, a tall well-built African American man with a slight accent that had overseen Tessa Fairfield's autopsy after she was found. He now runs his department with a fine-tooth comb and expects the same out of his colleagues. Kyle had heard his name before as being one of the most accurate in his field nationwide.

Greg told Kyle he didn't hesitate when he was asked to participate his discoveries because Tessa's case was one that haunted his dreams and disturbed him the most in his career. It bothered him that he wasn't the first to examine the body after they found her, but was the second. Since Tessa was from money, Greg as flown out the day that Colin had identified her body to examine her in Idaho before she had been shipped the same day to Colorado for a closer look in his facility. Greg explained he wanted to be here personally to answer any questions Kyle might have. Kyle was grateful and immediately felt comfortable with Greg's warm bright smile which was a huge contrast to the non-smiling cold dead victims he cut into every day.

"Great to meet you Kyle, even under the circumstances. I have to remind you that this was a high-profile case and is under an order from the courts to keep the drama to a whisper if you get my meaning." Captain Shipley said. "I worked closely with the lead detective on Tessa Fairfield's case. He is retired after getting shot over two years ago, but if we can't answer your questions then I'll call him in or you can meet him somewhere. We want to avoid a scare of another serial killer, as we've had our share even though your murders are on the west coast."

"Of course, I understand. I appreciate you letting me see the private documents. Right now, we are trailing a serial killer yes, but we aren't sure it is connected to Tessa Fairfield's case just yet. I want to make sure our killer isn't targeting Colin Fairfield or his family."

"So how did all of this come about?" Captain Shipley asked as he laid a big hand on Tessa's thick file.

"We have a group of seven girls that have been linked by blood in the eyes of the previous murder." Kyle saw the Greg and Captain Shipley exchange looks. "The murders seem to be working their way up from California to Washington again. Then one more murder happened with similar traits to catch our attention uncomfortably. The lady's name was Jolene Parker. She was pregnant with twins. She had her own blood in her eyes but was killed in the similar fashion as the West Coast Runaways, which is what we have come to label the linked girls privately. Jolene happened to be the girlfriend of a boy that Anna Fairfield was meeting on the night she died. There was a confrontation, a murder, and now links of a spider web. Anna's name brought up a link to her mother Tessa's murder, which seems to have similarities to Jolene and the chain of girls. We feel confused and frustrated. Anna is of course Colin Fairfield's daughter and we want to keep them safe if Anna was the intended target that night. Or if it is the same killer that is practicing with the West Coast girls."
