Traffic was busy for a Sunday, so leaving Washington was like following sleds on a track. The snow that covered the roads had turned into an icy path with the promise to slingshot vehicles around every turn. Due to being forced to drive slowly, the traffic was heavy at first but flowed easy once Jake was on the freeway. To add to his unrushed freedom, loud music enveloped the cab and kissed Jake's ears. The further he went, thankfully the spacing between cars lengthened on the freeways and gave him more freedom to avoid accidents.
Plans for his trip occupied Jake's mind until it was distracted by two beautiful college girls that drove behind and next to him. They teased him with their smiles and flirted for his attention. Stickers on their windows indicated they went to an Oregon college. Jake smiled back and let them keep up next to him. It looked as if one of them were changing but he got a long flash of her perfect round breasts that she wasn't shy about showing. It was obviously cold, and her nipples confirmed it. Jake jerked as he had almost hit a car because one of his wheels slipped on ice. Jake let his natural reaction take over has he had been trained to drive in cold conditions by swerving off on the side of the road before he righted his driving. He got back in line and drove ahead of the girls' car.
Jake laughed and thought the girls were going to catch up to him again but it looked like they had fallen back quickly. Since he was lucky enough to get a tit shot, he knew this was going to be a great trip for the only thing that could top that was sugar and Brittany. Jake planned on getting both. Jake glanced one more time in his rearview mirror before he turned off towards the white covered mountain. He didn't see the girls anymore, however he thought he had gotten a glimpse of a blue car that had been with him a little bit after he left his house. His stomach flipped but he wasn't sure why.
The day was gray and cool but Jake loved the crispiness of the playful wind in the winter. He had pulled off on an onramp and headed to the outlet mall his mother had indicated on the direction sheet she gave him. Before him was a bunch of brand name clothing stores, electronics, shoes, and targeted shops as well as a bakery.
After he pulled into the mini-mall of happiness Jake headed straight for The Treat Shop. He knew goodies were there awaiting his attention. He stepped inside and was drawn in as each wall was covered with shelves of delicious sugary treats in crazy colors that went beyond anyone's imagination from floor to ceiling. There was even a big section for the health nut. The colors lured him as a child would a predator.
Suddenly, The Treat Shop reminded Jake of the nightmare he had with his sister in it. Immediately he shook his head as nobody was going to ruin his favorite sweet place on ear
A pretty girl at the counter took his name before she disappeared to the back room. To Jake's delight she returned a few seconds later with a large clear bag that contained boxes of treats tied with ribbon. Stapled on the outside of the bag was a note that read:
"Jake be safe, and stay awake. Love mom".
The sugar high Jake was expecting should last long after he arrived at college a couple days from now with all these goodies. Feeling as if he were floating on air, Jake wanted to hug his mother. As girly as weddings were, his mom's connections fulfilled his heart, head, and tongue. Jake loved that his mom thought of him and he didn't care who knew it. He would do anything for her. Again, Jake felt lucky he had such a great family.
Jake thanked the girl and stepped out into the cold breeze which took all scents of chocolate away. He walked quicker to his mom's favorite shop. The beauty supply shop was a couple of doors down. The warmth and smell were refreshing if not a bit overwhelming. Jake wasn't as comfortable as he was at The Treat Shop. In this store, there were too many products that were foreign to him. There were too many products and procedures that required these fruit and mud-scented goops. It was just a part of the female race he really didn't feel he needed to know about.
