"Jake and I shouldn't really be mad at each other." Anna started to reason with herself.

She was hurt that Jake hadn't told her about Brittany, but he probably wasn't expecting to see her here again either. Yet that didn't explain why he didn't say anything when they were having a good time at the casino either. Anna gave him plenty of chances before she slipped him the pills. Everything in Jake's manner told her he was a good man, except that one dishonesty which she felt he kept like a secret.

Anna thought Jake looked so beautiful and innocent when he was asleep, but such a liar when awake. Brittany, she was the reason. She was the one behind his deceit and betrayal. She knows everything, and had him brainwashed.

Jake wouldn't fully give himself to her if Brittany was still in the picture. Anna wanted to be his confidant, his best friend, not that dumb bitch. If Brittany was alive, she'd stay in their lives forever. Anna couldn't have that. Anna had been so angry when he took off with Brittany after the accident, that she wanted to chase after him and run into his truck, but she just didn't want to hurt their baby.

Anna started to cramp even harder.

"I know my sweet. Daddy is being a bad boy right now. We are going to make him see reason. Don't you worry your perfect little head about it." She said aloud while rubbing her belly in a circular motion as she drove.

It was soul torturing going back and forth on hating and loving him. Anna knew there must be an explanation, or it was just all a misunderstanding. She couldn't hurt their baby she carried inside her and wished Jake would feel as much joy as she did.

Deciding it wasn't worth being angry over as everything had a way of working out, Anna stopped stressing over Jake's actions. She was just going to talk to him and they could figure it all out in one conversation. Their baby deserved at least that. Anna deserved at least that.

There was hardly anyone on the road. There was snow everywhere but the sun was out. Cold air flowed through her windows removing the stress from her head. Anna giggled out loud then smiled at the sun, swerving over the road. She was so happy that Jake was no longer around Brittany. Life felt happy and great! Anna felt she was following her husband to be. He is going home because they had to plan their wedding. She longed for him so, to hold her, to talk to her, to watch their baby grow. He is such a good father, she was so happy she found a great man. Life felt great for the moment they were driving together on a quiet road of thoughts and tried to transfer positive energy into Jake, so he would feel the same way she did.

Anna had followed Jake into another fast food and coffee drive through. Anna still had a few coffee double-shot drinks in a can, had filled up in her little car at the last stop and just finished eating so there wasn't anything she needed this time when they pulled into a traveler's sanction. This gave her a few minutes to herself.

Then she made the mistake of turning on her phone. Many beeps of sound let her know she had tons of messages and alerts. They flowed in alike a broken dam no longer able to hold back water. Anna looked at her pictures to stop the feeling of panic that started to choke her. Her pictures always calmed her down.

Under the trees' shadows Anna looked at the shots of her beautiful Jake. She sighed and smiled wishing things were easier. She basked in the memory of each glorious picture, most of them were of him naked. After the last one, an image of her garden popped before her face with such brilliant color. Anna missed her garden and desired the safety that her precious garden provided, where everything was ok, and she could be whoever she wanted to be. Her garden was her mother.

Anna straightened up as the last bells went off from her phone. She knew she only had minutes until Jake would leave in his truck, so she figured she'd just check out the most important messages and respond to them all later. She couldn't put it off any longer in case her father sent a search party after her.
