Chapter 14

Lauren's POV:

We are all sitting at the table when I hear the front door open. I get scared and Daniel says, "Lauren, can you go check who it is?"
I get up and walk until I can see the front door, and Jack is walking towards me with roses.
"Jack!" I yell and run towards him.
I jump into his arms and we hug. I never want to let go.
I start crying into his shoulder and I hear him say, "It's ok Lauren, I'm home."
Those words were exactly what I needed.
"I thought you found someone better." I manage to say in between sobs.
"I could never find someone better than you Lauren. Look I got you flowers." He says.
I pull away from the hug and take the flowers. "Thank you. I'm so glad you're home." I say.
The boys all clap and yell, which makes me smile a little. Then they leave and Jack looks at me.
"What about your mom?" I ask.
"The girls can take care of her, can we talk?"
That made me nervous.
"Sure."
"I was thinking we could go out for ice cream?"
"With me looking like this?" I say and look down at myself wearing shorts and Jacks sweatshirt.
"You look great, but we can just go outside if you want?"
I nod, then follow him outside. We sit on the curb and he sighs.
"Lauren, the entire time I was home, I was thinking about you. When you said you were going to the beach with the guys, I thought you had already forgot about me and were going to move on. That's why I didn't text you. I was non stop thinking about if you were okay, and I even cried once or twice."
He stopped to take a breath and I took my turn.
"Jack, I thought you moved on because you never texted me. I never stopped crying. I sat in your room in your sweatshirt all day everyday."
He looked up at me.
"Daniel told me, and when he showed me you were crying on my bed, my heart broke. I realized something and I hope you feel the same way. All the days I was thinking about you, I felt something. And I wasn't sure what it was until I was talking to Daniel and realized it. Lauren,"
He took my hands in his.
"I love you." He said.
I started tearing up.
"I love you too Jack." I said and and hugged me.
I hugged back.
He pulled away and kissed me.
Afterwards, I couldn't stop smiling.
"Go get ready, we are going out for ice cream." He said while smiling at me.
I nod and run up the stairs.
I go into his bathroom and started getting ready.
About 20 minutes later I go downstairs and hear Jack talking to the boys. I stop myself and listen.
"You told her you love her?" Zach asked.
"Yeah." Jack said.
"Do you?" Corbyn asked.
"Of course. How could I not? She's perfect." Jack answered.
I try not to start crying.
"You two are perfect for each other." Daniel said.
"I agree." Jonah added.
Yeah right Jonah.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with her, that's why I got her this." Jack said.
Got me what?!? He's not going to propose is he?
I'm not ready for marriage, I thought we were taking things slow.
"Woahhh." Daniel says.
"Cool bro." Corbyn continues.
"She will love it." Jonah adds.
I walk downstairs. "Hey guys."
Jack puts his hands behind his back. "You ready babe?"
"Yup. See you later boys." I say and starts walking.
I hear Jack slip something into his pocket and say bye to the boys and we get in the car.
We arrive at the ice cream place and sit down with our orders.
"Can I just say, I am so glad you are home. We can finally take things slow just like we wanted." I say.
"Yeah." Jack says. "So-"
I cut him off. "How was Pennsylvania?"
"Good. Anyway-"
I cut him off again. "I've never been there."
"Really? We-"
"I've also never been to Florida."
"Lauren! What's going on?"
I sigh.
"I heard you talking to the boys. I'm not ready to get married!"
Jack starts laughing.
"Lauren, I'm not proposing to you. Not yet anyway."
"Your not?" I ask.
"No silly," He pulls a black box out of his pocket. "I was going to give you this.
He opens the box and inside is a necklace. It's silver and says, "Jack" on it.
"It's a promise necklace." He says.
My eyes start watering.
"Babeeee." I say.
He stands up and put the necklace around my neck.
"It's also a way of telling everyone you're mine and they need to back off."
I laugh and hug him. "I'm yours?" I ask.
"Oh right, that reminds me. Lauren Jones, will you be my girlfriend?" He asks.
I nod my head and we hug again. This time, we kiss after and I couldn't be happier.
"You know, you make me the happiest girl alive?" I say.
"And you make me the happiest man alive." He says.
Just then, a girl walks in with long brown hair.
"Jack!" She yells.
