Chapter 22

Lauren's POV:

The next morning I woke up alone in my bed. I get up and eat breakfast while watching some tv.
Then, my phone buzzes.
It's a text from Jack.

Jack: Music in the park is tonight at 6, meet me at the park at 5:50?
Lauren: Sure, see you then

I shut off my phone but it buzzes again.

Daniel: Hey Lauren, are you busy today?
Lauren: I'm free until 5:30, why?
Daniel: Wanna hangout until then?
Lauren: Sure
Daniel: Meet me over here in 20
Lauren: Ok

I start getting ready and then head next door.

Aspen's POV:

I get ready for the day and text Mikey.

Aspen: Are you ready for tonight??
Mikey: Yeah, want to hangout before then? I have nothing to do today.
Aspen: Sure, just come over now.

I sit on the couch and wait for Mikey to come.
Eventually there is a knock on the door and I open it to a really hot boy...

Skip the day until 5:30
Lauren's POV:

"Thanks for hanging out with me today Lauren." Daniel says as he drops me off.
"Of course! I had a lot of fun." I respond.
"Me too! Let's do it again soon."
"For sure, bye dani."
"Bye."
I go inside and start getting ready for Music In The Park.
I check the time when I'm done getting ready, and it's 5:46.
Perfect. I start walking over.

Jack's POV:

I get to the park a little early because i'm so excited.
Around 5:45, Aspen walks over to me.
I pull out my phone and start recording, then put it back in my pocket, in case she tries anything so I have proof.
"Hey Jack." She says.
"What do you want?" I reply with an attitude.
"Well, you won't get back together with me, so I have to make little Lauren jealous so she breaks up with you."
"And how do you plan on doing that?" I ask.
She points and I see Lauren locking her house. As soon as Lauren gets close enough to see, Aspen kisses me.
I push her away instantly.
I turn and see Lauren running back towards home.
"Aspen! Why would you do that?" I yell. "Get away from me, I want nothing to do with you! You ruined everything, I love her. Do you not understand that?"
I get up and run towards Lauren's house.
When I knock, the door opens but it's not Lauren. It's that guys Mikey from the mall.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Trying to comfort the girl YOU broke." He says.
"Can I talk to Lauren?"
"You are the last person she wants to talk to right now."
He slams the door in my face and I hear it lock.
I look through the window and see Lauren on the couch crying. Mikey puts his arm around her, she's already moved on...

Lauren's POV:

I get closer to the park and see Jack, but he isn't alone. He's with, Aspen?
Why is he with her.
All of a sudden, I see Aspen and Jack kiss.
I start feeling dizzy and instantly start to cry. I turn around and run back home.
When I get there I hear a soft knock. I look through the peephole and see Mikey. I open the door.
"Hey, I was on the way to Music In The Park and saw what happened, I think you need someone right now."
I hug him and we walk over to the couch when I hear another knock.
"I'll get it." He says.
I don't see who he's talking to, and I didn't hear anyone but when they are done talking, Mikey slams the door.
He comes back over to me and puts his arm around me.
I push him away. "Mikey, who was that?" I ask.
"Jack."
"What did he want?"
"He wanted to talk to you, but it's not good for you right now."
I nod.
We sit on the couch for the rest of the night, I had to put my phone on do not disturb because off all the calls and texts I was getting from Jack and the boys.

Jack's POV:

After seeing Mikey and Lauren, I went back home. I walked straight to my room and laid on my bed.
I heard a knock and someone walked in.
"Jack, aren't you supposed to be on your date with Lauren?" It's Daniel.
I start crying and he sits next to me on the bed.
"Dude what's wrong?"
I told him everything, from Aspen kissing me to Mikey being with Lauren. I even played the recording on my phone, which I had totally forgotten about.
"You have to show her this!" Daniel says.
"How?" I ask in between sniffles. "She won't want to talk to me."
"Just call her. I bet she's only with Mikey because she needs someone right now." He continues.
I dial her number, and it goes to voicemail.
"Try texting her."
I text her, but no response. I call her a few more times, and so does Daniel.
By this time, all of the boys know and have called her a couple times.
"I'm sorry man." Zach says and pats my back.
"Me too."

Sorry this was a little shorter than normal.
