Chapter 17

Lauren's POV:

The boys kneel down next to him and Jonah yells, "Someone call 911!"
I pull out my phone and dial 911.

Operator: This is 911, what's your emergency?
L: Well, my friend is laying on the ground not moving.

I am crying really hard at this point.
"He's still breathing!" Corbyn yells.

Operator: Ok ma'am, take deep breaths. Where is your exact location?
L: *random park*
Operator: Help is on the way.
L: Thank you.

I hang up the phone. "Someone is on the way." I say.
When an ambulance finally arrives, they say only one of us can ride with him.
"Lauren, you go." Daniel says.
"Are you sure?" I ask.
They all nod. "I can drive behind you guys." Jonah adds.
I hop inside the truck and we go to the hospital, with me holding Jack's hand the entire way.
We arrive and they tell me I have to wait in the waiting room, and I fill out some papers.
The boys run in and come over to me.
"What's happening?" Zach asks.
"They won't let me in, i'm just filling out papers right now." I say.
They sit down next to me.
About 30 minutes later, a doctor comes out.
"Lauren Jones?" He says.
I stand up and walk over to him. "That's me."
"Your friend Jack, will be just fine. He was hit in the head with a rock it seems like, and dragged over to the bushes where he was found. He was just unconscious but he will be able to go home in an hour or so."
"Okay thank you."
"He's awake now, if you would like to see him."
I nod and follow the doctor to Jacks room.
"I will leave you two alone." He says and leaves the room.
I walk over to Jack and he looks at me.
"Who are you?" He asks.
I cover my mouth and try not to cry.
"Just kidding!" He says and takes me other hand.
"Jack! Don't joke like that." I almost yell and he smiles.
"Sorry."
I smile back at him.
He pats the bed next to him, telling me to sit down, so I do.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"Yeah, now that you're here." He says, and I can't help but smile. "But I know who hit me."
"Who?!" I say.
"It was Aspen."
"That girl from the ice cream place?" I say.
He nods.
I rub his arm, "Well at least you are okay. I love you Jack."
"I love you too Lauren. I can't wait to get out of here, can we all see a movie or something?"
"Of course." I say. "Do you want to see the boys?"
He shakes his head. "They can wait until I get out, I only want to see you." He says.
I lean down and kiss him.
When I pull away, the doctor walks in.
"Jack, you can leave in a few minutes. I just need a few more tests. Ms. Jones, if you'll excuse me." He says.
I nod and walk out.
The boys are still sitting in the waiting room.
"What's happening now?!?" Zach says.
"Is he okay?" Daniel asks.
I nod. They all sigh in relief.
"He will be all good to go in a few minutes." I say.
"Well what happened to him?" Jonah asks.
"That girl, Aspen," I start to say but Corbyn interrupts.
"Aspen?! His crazy ex?"
I nod. "Apparently. Anyway, she hit him in the head with a rock. I don't know how I missed it."
"She's always been in love with him." Daniel says.
"She is the type to do something crazy like that." Jonah says.
We hear the doors to the waiting room open and Jack walks out.
I run up to him and hug him.
"Be careful, Jack has a concussion. Come back in 2 weeks and we will see if you can be cleared or not." The doctor says and hands him a piece of paper with his next appointment and concussion information on it.
"Thank you doctor." Jack responds.
The doctor leaves and Jack kisses me.
The boys pretend to gag and Jack and I laugh.
"You feeling okay?" Corbyn asks.
"Yeah i'm fine, do you guys wanna go see a movie?" Jack responds.
"Sure." We all say in unison.

We drive in Jonah's car to the movie theater and buy tickets.
We find our seats and the boys all snapchat it.
They take videos of each other smiling and laughing.
When they show me in the videos, I hide my face and Jack kisses my hand.
During the movie, I'm obviously sitting next to Jack and when a jump scare comes up I put my face in Jacks shoulder.
He always laughs.
We are holding hands throughout the entire movie and when it's over, all of the boys except Jack go to the bathroom.
When Jack and I are alone in the hallway, he pulls me close and says, "Thank you for always being there baby. I love you."
"I love you more." I respond and we kiss.
The boys walk out just as we finish and I go to use the bathroom.
I walk in and see Aspen, so I quickly turn around and tell the boys we need to leave right away.
