Chapter 49

Daniel's POV:

I wake up the next morning and head for the kitchen, when I hear giggling coming from Jack and Lauren's room.
I roll my eyes and keep walking.
When I turn the corner to the kitchen, Jonah stops me.
"What was that?" He asks.
"What?" I respond casually.
"I saw you roll your eyes."
Shoot.
"Oh, it was nothing." I say.
"I thought maybe it was because of how loud Jack and Lauren are being."
"Jack and Lauren? Oh it has nothing to do with them." I say and take a sip of the coffee on the counter.
"Dude that's my coffee."
"Oh right. Sorry." As I turn around I run into the pantry door. But when I try to play it off, Jonah asks, "What's wrong with you man?"
I sigh and say, "It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
I couldn't keep this in much longer.
That's when Lauren came into the kitchen in one of Jack's shirts.
She looked so hot.
"Hey Jonah, hey Dani." She says as her hands ruffle my hair.
When I turn around, I notice Jack's shirt is just short enough to the point where her butt peeks out while she's on her tippy toes reaching for a bowl.
I just wanted to grab her and kiss her.

Lauren's POV:

Jack and I were talking all morning, but eventually I got hungry.
I hop up and head to the kitchen in nothing but a bra, underwear, and jack's shirt.
"Hey Jonah, hey Dani." I say while I walk past Daniel and mess up his hair.
Then I go to the cupboards and reach for a bowl.
I'm on my tippy toes, but I just can't reach them.
"Dani will you please help me?" I ask.
"Uh, yeah." He responds and grabs a bowl for me.
"Thanks!" I squeal and kiss his cheek.
I quickly make my cereal, and hurry to my room.
When I open the door, Jack is sprawled out on the bed. He's only in boxers.
I set my bowl down and climb on top of him, then leave small kisses everywhere leading up to his lips.
Once we are done, I eat my fruit loops while Jack starts singing.
I'm in love with his voice.
Then, he slips on some shorts and takes my hand, leading me to the kitchen again.
I put my bowl in the sink then join him in the living room where he is talking to the boys.
"I think we should take today to go to the beach and explore Hawaii." Zach suggests.
"I agree!" I say, as I wrap my arms around Jack's torso.
"We should probably wait until after the furniture comes." Jonah says.
Corbyn nods, and I notice Daniel is sitting on the floor alone, just on his phone.
Confused, I make my way over to him.
"Hey Dani, are you ok?" I whisper.
He just nods.
"Tell me what's wrong, we are best friends, remember?"

Daniel's POV:

"Tell me what's wrong, we are best friends, remember?" She says and I look into her eyes.
How could I not talk to her?
"I don't really feel like talking about it." I start getting up, but she grabs my wrist, shooting goosebumps throughout my body.
"How about we take the whole day to explore Hawaii? Just to two of us. It will be fun and it gives us a chance to catch up."
"I don't know."
At this point both of her hands are holding mine.
"Pleaseeeee," She begs, "I miss you and it will be fun. The boys can wait for the furniture."
"Fine."
"Yay!" She says as she jumps up and down. "I'll go tell Jack and get ready!"
A while day alone with Lauren. Wow.

Jack's POV:

I hear Lauren yell and then she's right next to me.
"Daniel and I are gonna spend the day together to catch up, so I'm gonna go get ready." She says and kisses my cheek, then runs off.
I look over at Daniel and he is all alone, on his phone. He starts walking to the hallway but I stop him.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"Going to get ready." He responds, not making eye contact.
"I mean with Lauren."
"What? Nothing."
I walk back over to Jonah, Zach and Corbyn.

Lauren's POV:

I sit in my room and start curling my hair when Jack walks in.
"Hey baby." I say.
No response.
"Jack?"
I turn around and he is on the bed, still shirtless, on his phone.
I put my curling wand down on my vanity and walk over to him.
He's on the edge of the bed with one leg up so I sit in front of him.
"Babe?" I say and he still doesn't respond.
I set my hand on his leg and use my other to lift his face so his eyes meet mine.
"Jack, please tell me what's wrong."
He just stares at me.
"I want to fix it. Please."
"It's dumb." He mumbles.
I move my hand from his chin to his cheek.
"Just tell me."
He sighs, "I'm just jealous."
"Of?"
"Daniel! He gets to spend the whole day with you today."
"Jack, we are just friends going out to catch up. He's been acting weird lately and I want to check up on him."
"Why can't you do that in the kitchen where I can see you?"
I giggle a little and he looks down to try and hide his smile.
"Jack."
"hmm?"
"Look at me."
He slowly lifts his head to look at me.
"I love you."
"I love you too Lauren."
"Then trust me. You already have me and nothing is going to change that. Daniel and I don't have feelings for each other. Ok?"
He nods.
I kiss him and then return to my vanity to get ready.
Every so often I glance at him laying in bed and watching tv, just to remind myself how lucky I am to have a guy like him in my life.
Soon enough I finish getting ready and I say goodbye to Jack.
I walk out to the living room and see Daniel waiting.
"Ready?" I ask and he nods.
"Goodbye everyone!" I yell on our way out.
We get in the rental car with me driving and I ask, "So, where do you wanna go first?"
