Description: Dan and Phil go out to see a movie together, which would be a totally normal occurrence if a ‘phangirl’ hadn’t caught them kissing.

Warnings: I tried writing fluff again because I just haven’t felt sad enough to write more angst (i guess that’s a good thing)

Every chance they got, they’d go to the movies. It was the only ‘date’ they could ever go on, because it had a perfect cover for it. Friends go to movies together all the time, it’s normal. No one would ever suspect a thing. But they went out together as a date, even if no one else knew. They’d sit in the very back row and hold hands, giggling like middle-schoolers would while doing the same. They never got caught. No, they were too sneaky for that. Nothing could go wrong with Dan and Phil’s movie dates.

On this particular date, they’d gone out to see a horror movie together. Phil was a little reluctant, because he knew when Dan got scared, he also got clingy. And if Dan got clingy, he’d have to cuddle him until he felt better and he couldn’t risk that, not even in the very back of a dark theater. But Dan insisted, so they went. They both regretted it. Within the first 10 minutes, Dan had already made a noise similar to a dying walrus and clutched onto Phil’s shirt, hiding his face in Phil’s neck. Phil was scared too, but for a totally different reason. Dan was being so touchy, anyone who saw them would’ve immediately known exactly what was going on between the two. But he still slid and arm over Dan’s shoulders and held him. He laughed a little every time Dan gasped. He was just so cute, damn it. “Dan, shut up,” he whispered. “You’re making me miss the movie.” Dan pushed his face further into Phil’s skin. “Good, pay attention to me.” He put his hands over Phil’s eyes and laughed as Phil swiped them away. “You’re lucky you’re so cute,” he mumbled to him, kissing him as quickly as he could. He really wanted to kiss him more, but they were in public and well- you know. They couldn’t. But Dan pulled his face back to his and held it just inches away.

"You’re pretty cute too," he answered, and Phil could feel his warm breath spreading out over his cheeks. "Dan, come on, lemme go. We can’t get caught." Dan groaned and let Phil go, sitting up and crossing his arms. "I am gonna kiss you so hard when we get home," he muttered, and Phil rolled his eyes. "Oh wow. So threatening." He didn’t let Dan crawl back over and practically in his lap like before, but he did reach down and grab his hand, squeezing it a little every few seconds or whenever Dan whimpered.

The movie ended soon, and they shuffled out in the same post-movie daze as everyone else. They walked back, because it was a beatiful day out and Dan was in the mood to take on some fangirls. They walked for about 15 minutes before encountering a group of teenage girls, one of which was actually wearing a llama hat. Dan pointed it out to Phil, and she whirled around at his voice. Her eyes went wide and she just put her hand over her mouth. She glanced back to her friends, who were all giggling at something on their phones. The one in the llama hat then stuck her phone up, took a picture of them, and then ran, her group of friends following soon after. Phil raised an eyebrow after them. “What was that about? Why did she just take a picture of us?” Dan shrugged. “Probably star struck.” He mock laughed and pointed to Phil, who was wearing his star shirt. He returned the fake laughter. “Oh ha ha ha. You’re a comedian, Dan.”

"That’s what I get payed for," he agreed, walking ahead of Phil. Phil shook his head and sprinted a bit to catch up. "No, Dan, we get payed to make sexual jokes and be awkward on camera." Dan shrugged again. "Yeah, that’s what I just said. Comedian."

"You’re hilarious," Phil said shaking his head. Dan nodded. "I know I am. That’s why you love me."

They continued back and forth as they walked the rest of the way home. When they were finally there, Dan flopped down onto the couch and reached for his laptop immediately. “I missed yooouuu,” he sighed, pulling it onto his lap and arranging himself into a position which couldn’t possibly be comfortable and would most likely leave him with back problems in his older age. Phil sat beside him, pulling Dan’s legs partially onto his lap. “I’m sure your laptop missed you too,” he joked, rubbing Dan’s knee. Dan didn’t respond. He just made a choked noise in his throat. Phil raised an eyebrow, watching as his eyes widened at his screen. “Oh god..” he muttered. Phil leaned up to see the screen, to see what was making Dan react like that, but Dan just slammed his laptop closed and stood abruptly.
