Chapter Twenty Seven

I sat on the couch, once again glancing at my watch and sighed. I had been patiently waiting for Neveah to get ready for the day I had planned for us and slowly my patience was ebbing due to my excitement to get the day underway.

" Are you nearly done Neveah?" I called out to her, glancing at my watch again even though I had only looked at it a few seconds ago.

" Yes, nearly. I won't be long. I promise." I heard her sweet voice respond in return, and smiled as I shook my head. This was actually the first time, in the time that we had been together, where she had taken over an hour and a half to get ready for a day out together.

I wanted to remain patient, to keep calm. I didn't want to have anything happen that would taint the day. I wanted it to be so extremely special for the two of us because depending on what her answer would be to what I was planning on asking her later in the night, it was going to be a day that both of us would remember for the rest of our lives.

I couldn't deny that my thoughts were simply concentrating on my one question to her, and the more I thought about it the more nervous I became. I wouldn't bring myself to think of any rejection on her part, to do so would only make me tense and incompetent to create an amazing day with her. I simply focused on her answer being what I was hoping and wishing for, which turned my nerves to excitement.

I hadn't planned too much for the day but what I was planning was enough to make the day memorable. I had rented a car for the day, and the first thing on the agenda was to drive out to the wilderness. She had been talking so much lately how she wished she could walk within nature again, how much she was missing the river she used to live by, so I had researched and found the perfect place to start our day. Finally she came out from the hallway and stood there looking at me. I laughed when I saw her.

" Over an hour and a half and you look as if you are prepared for a lazy day." She scowled at me before looking down at herself.

" It takes a lot of work to look as if I just rolled out of bed." She replied jokingly, as I rose from the couch and made my way over to her. " Is what I'm wearing suitable for what ever we are doing today?" I looked her over and took her hand into mine, making her turn around in a full circle to pretend to assess her, lightly smacking her backside playfully, making her jump slightly, before she faced me again.

" Yep, it's perfect." I told her, and pulled her into my arms. She was wearing a pair of black shorts, with white trimming along the bottom, a tight lilac singlet, and a pair of white runners with bright turquoise laces. To be honest the runners she wore made her look as if she were about to dive into a workout session at the gym. Even with her dressed in such clothing, she held me mesmerised. I had never seen her dress as she had, yet I loved it completely.

" Ready then?" I asked her, and she nodded in reply. I took her hand into mine and lead her to the door of our apartment.

Before long we were both in the car and driving to the wilderness. She had asked me over and over where we were going, and I simply continued to reply with a smile and tell her it was a surprise. She held my hand most of the way as I drove, at times my hand would find it's way to her thigh and remain holding it firmly with my thumb caressing her gently.

I made sure to glance at her from time to time, and saw her eyes shinning with joy at the scenery that passed by, and found myself smiling happily whenever a bright smile graced her lips.

After two hours we arrived at our destination, and I laughed when she had stared at the lush green forest before us with an expression of longing and awe before she turned to look at me and smiled sweetly. I continued to laugh as she quickly got out of the car, and did a little running dance on the spot due to her excitement to see the beautiful scenery of nature before her.
