Harley's outfit & ring for this chapter are in the sidebar/info :)
Jade's POV
Like always, I was waiting on Harley to finish getting ready. I'd walk into the bathroom to check on her, but I wasn't looking to get a mouth full of hairspray. That shit is nasty! Why haven't they invented flavored hairspray yet? That would be amazing!
The sound of her perfume bottle perked up my ears. Harley flipped off the bathroom light as she walked out. God, she never ceases to amaze me! She looked stunning!
"Hubba-hubba!" I gawked with my jaw on the floor.
Harley had on a beautiful black cocktail dress that showed off her amazing curves and small body. Her long legs were accentuated with shiny black heels, and skin colored nylons.
She giggled. "Come on, my little oink-oink!"
"Hey! I'm just a man." I responded as we walked to the door, but before we could reach it, there was a knock.
"HURRY UP, YOU TWO!" Ryder called from the other side.
"Yeah, yeah!" Harley hailed back as she opened the door.
NJ and Ryder both looked nice. I'm not used to seeing either of them out of blue jeans and t-shirts, though I'm sure Harley could say the same about me.
Our reunion was a semi-formal dinner, held at the hotel we were staying at. Thank The Lord, we can just take an elevator down, and we're there.
The elevator doors were closing, when I heard an all too familiar voice, frustratingly calling, "Ugh, wait! Please hold the elevator!"
Ryder, being the one in the front, quickly stopped the doors from closing. As they pulled back, I saw Arianna and Kevin standing there. Her face lit up brighter than Time Square on New Years.
"Harley!" Arianna squealed as she hugged her tightly.
She looked at me with eyes begging for help, but none of us did anything except laugh. "Arianna, I... I missed you too, b-but I, can't breathe."
"Oh, oh, sorry!" She replied as she let go. "So, how have you-OH MY GOD, YOU GUYS GOT ENGAGED?!"
Harley glanced down at the ring on her finger, than bashfully looked back up. "Actually, we got married, by Justice of the Peace."
"Uh, oh, I see. When was this?" She asked as the elevator doors opened.
"Right after college." Harley responded, wrapping her arm around mine as we walked.
Arianna was a little taken back, but Kevin brushed it off a lot easier. "Congrats."
"Yeah," She said, giving him a strange glimpse. "Congrats."
I don't know if there was judgment in the air, or relationship issues. I'd bargain to say, there was trouble in paradise. We haven't even seen them in ten years, so I doubt we're in a position to ask.
Kevin's POV
Arianna split off from everyone, darting out the back door of the hotel. I followed, of course, worried terribly about her. Part of me wished, I could act like I didn't know what was happening, but I did.
She's ready for marriage, but I'm not. The topic has caused many heated arguments between both of us, including one before we came. Arianna was worried all our friends would be married, and we'd be the ones that still hadn't grown up enough.
"Arianna," I started, but got cut off.
"I told you this would happen!" She pouted. "They're all going to be married!"
I sighed, already frustrated with a topic we've harped on daily. "They had to, because they had a child! Ryder and NJ didn't have rings on their fingers!"
"That's different! They can't get married!" She responded.
"Yes, they can. It's legal where they live, right now." I said. "I promise, we aren't the only ones, okay?"
Arianna huffed, mumbling, "Okay, fine."
She walked back through the doors, and I quickly followed, grabbing her arm so we at least looked like the perfect happy couple. The others have issues too, I'm sure, but they'll put up the same mask.
Taylor's POV
I was in the middle of screwing on my earrings, when Aleks complained for the hundredth time about us being late.
"I'm sorry, I'm a chick! Being late is what we do!" I griped back to him.
"I'm sure everyone else is down there already." He bitched as he prompted himself up on the doorframe, beer in hand.
I snatched it from his paws with a distasteful expression. "Yeah, I bet they already are, and I bet they aren't drunk!"
"Oh, c'mon. I had one beer, not a whole pack!" Aleks whined while he watched me pour the alcohol down the sink.
"Which reminds me," I muttered. "Where is the pack?"
"A safe place." He replied, moving out of the doorway so I could pass.
I glanced around the room, scanning for both the beer and my purse. Found the purse, not the booze.
"What? Your gut?" I barked as I went through my clutch, making sure I had the essentials.
He rolled his eyes. "No, now can we go?"
I walked up to him, holding my elbow out. Aleks sighed as he linked arms with me, and we began to walk to the event.
