Harley's POV
It was mine and Jade's turn to cook, so we were making breakfast while the others slugged their way downstairs. He and I were listening to an old country station, smiling and singing along, laughing in between lines.
One of my all time favorite songs came on, and we sang together.
"You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings, and you don't have to call me Charlie Pride, and you don't have to call me Merle Haggard anymore. Even though you're on my fightin' side.
And I'll hang around as long as you will let me, and I never minded standin' in the rain. But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'. You never even called me by my name."
Aleks and Kevin came through the entrance to the kitchen, moping over to the table. They both groaned, obviously annoying by our singing, but we didn't give a shit.
Jade grabbed me by the hand, kissing my finger tips. "But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'." He smirked.
I laughed, stealing a kiss from him before saving my bacon from burning. We both sang along to our favorite verse.
"Well I was drunk, the day my mom got out of prison, and I went to pick her up in the rain, but before I could get to the station in the pick-up truck, she got runned over by a damned old train!"
As the verse finished, I heard the song suddenly stop. Looking up, I saw Taylor had come down, very unhappy, and turned off the music. I acted like it didn't phase me, though it pissed me off.
Once she sat down at the table, Genesis and Eddie came down, both chipper.
"No music?" Genesis asked, turning the radio back on.
Taylor groaned, letting her head fall on the table as Johnny Cash came on. For some reason, she never was much of a country person, which makes no sense considering she lived in the south before moving to Colorado.
She knew she had to put up with it, whether she liked it or not. Of course, Jade and I went back to singing.
"If you've got a warrant just a-read it to me. Shot her down because she made me slow. I thought I was her daddy, but she had five more!"
He and I laughed together. Arianna walked down, giving us a look of utter disappointment.
"What are you listening to?" She asked, almost disgusted.
I groaned, pressing the off button on the radio. "Nothing." I replied, giving up on my happiness.
God, I wish NJ and Ryder were here. They surprisingly like country music, and enjoy it like Jade and I.
Jet and James finally came down, completing our small family. Jade helped me serve up breakfast, and everyone started chewing down wordlessly. There was a weird tension in the air, of which Eddie felt the need to break.
"So, you two had fun last night." He said, making be choke a bit on my orange juice.
Eddie giggled while my husband and I blushed unbelievably.
"You didn't have to be across the hall from it!" James expressed, mouth full of food.
"Have manors!" Jet scolded.
He swallowed down his pancakes, muttering, "Sorry."
"Whipped." Aleks mumbled, thinking he and Kevin were the only ones that caught it.
The others didn't hear either. I've just got super hearing from being a mother. God, what is up with him? He's being a total asshole!
"So, who wants to go to town today?" Arianna asked, referring to the small town down the road.
"Maybe us girls could go shopping." Genesis suggested. "There's a lot of cute shops!"
"That sounds great! We'll go while you guys are fishing." I smiled.
"Then it's a plan!" Arianna grinned, heading to throw her dish in the sink.
