Harley's POV

Somehow I drifted off, which is probably for the best that I get some damn sleep. The whole time Jade has had his eyes closed, mine have been open.

I began to wake to someone gently whispering to be. Soon I realized it was Ryder. "Morning, sunshine." He laughed, then stepped back as he said, "Look who else is up."

It took a moment for my eyes to focus, but once they did, I was happy to see the best damn thing I could ask for. Jade was awake, and sitting straight up! Believe me, that was a major improvement.

"Baby," I gasped as I walked to the side of his bed. "I'm so sorry about everything that happened. I love you, Jade, and I realized that no matter what, being with you, that's my home, and that's my future."

He smiled, weakly grabbing my hand. His voice was so terribly raspy as he told me, "You're the best damn thing that ever happened to me."

I grinned from ear to ear, leaning down and kissing him. "You taste like a hospital." I laughed.

"I wonder why." He replied. God, he could barely speak! My poor Baby sounded like a frog. "I wanna see Ella."

"I'll text her for you." Ryder interrupted. "Have a little alone time to yourselves first."

He walked out of the room as I pulled a chair up next to Jade's bedside. Just as I did so, I felt the baby kick in my stomach. That just started about a day ago, and it makes me grin every time.

I grabbed Jade's cold hand without a word and placed it over my stomach. "You feel that?"

A genuine smile spread across his face as he responded, "My Angel."

"I went to the doctors the day of your accident. The only good news that came out of that day is, you're finally going to get a baby boy."

"That's fucking great news, Babe. I'm happy, I have a reason to live."

Ryder's POV

Once I knew Harley was all settled, I finally checked Nicky out of the hospital. He was very quiet, too quiet. I know this whole ordeal took a lot out of him though.

We drove to the hotel in silence. While he was in the hospital, I told the movers to stay on schedule. So, our new home in Colorado awaits us, but we can't fly out until Nicky is back to his full strength.

I helped him to the bed, where he crashed into the sheets. All I could do is sigh, because I know he needs sleep, but I feel terrible unable to do anything about it.

While he slept, I wanted to do a little recon. Okay, I'm spying a bit, but I have to for his own good. I went into the bathroom and started digging through his things.

I know this is wrong, but I have to because I don't want my Baby hurt. After carefully fishing through his pills, I finally found an old medicine bottle of a prescription he doesn't take anymore.

Of course he had blades hidden in there. My stomach dropped from just the thought of him hurting himself. Oh, my Angel. My poor poor Baby, why does he do this to himself? Am I not enough for him?

I found an almost empty bottle of pain pills that was just refilled a few days ago. He has some for his HIV complications, but he should never be going through them this fast. I leaned over the sink, feeling sick to the thought of Nicky being in this much sorrow.

The door creaked a bit, and I glanced up through watery eyes to see Nicky was up. He looked terrified, seeing that I discovered his secret.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, breaking down in tears. "I'm sorry."
