Okay, so Sly will stay a Creature for this story. His reasonings in real life don't really fit the AU of this story, mostly.

Enjoy :)

Ryder's POV

It was October first, and freezing outside. I didn't care though, because I was in my warm home snuggling with my one and only. He and I were laid on the couch, watching TV with his head resting in my lap.

I promised him I'd take a day off. I've been working a lot lately, and he's been very lonely. The thought of that loneliness getting to him scares me.

My phone buzzed, and I reached over to the side table to pick it up.

"Baby, leave it." Nicky whined as he paused the movie.

I smiled, snickering. "I have to check it, incase of Harley."

He sighed as he playfully pouted. "I hate when you're right."

I ran my hand over his arm, waking my phone with the other hand. Harley is ready to pop any day now, so we have to be on guard. As I looked through my sea of texts carelessly, I suddenly stopped when I saw a text from Jade. I backed up, feeling my stomach tighten when I read it.

"Let's go get dressed." I said. "Harley went into labor."

"Only her and Jade's kid would manage to come on our day off." He laughed as he stood up.

I leaned over and kissed his check. "I'll make it up to you." I said as I hit his ass.

He blushed, opening his mouth in shock. Then that shock turned to a smile as he giggled like we were still in high school. God, that smile could turn my day around. I loved seeing it, I just wish I saw it more.

We both threw on some clothes, him also putting on his makeup, and we headed outside. The cold hit us hard the second we stepped into the garage. Thank The Lord for a truck that heats up fast. Even so, Nicky was already pretty cold and shaken.

If he's out in the cold for ten seconds, he'll shake for ten minutes. He's a bit like a small dog in those respects. Though, I think he's a lot more like a cat; small, quiet, sassy, and loving. Very loving.

Later

It seemed like hours we were at the hospital. Nicky fell asleep on me, and we got a few strange looks from people. Not everyone has gotten used to the idea of same sex relationships, but after fifteen years of it, we got used to the looks.

The nurse walked out, giggling a bit when she saw Nicky asleep on me. She softly said, "You can see them now."

I thanked her, then slowly woke Nicky with a kiss. "Time to meet the new peanut."

His eyes sparkled as he smiled. I couldn't help but laugh at how happy it made him. He's been getting very anxious about us finally having our own.

I sighed to myself, thinking of it. I'm a lot more nervous than him. Nicky... He's made to be a nourishing and tender loving person. I'm not, and I have to learn these things. I guess it's safe to say, I'm scared.

We walked to Harley and Jade's room as I attempted to push the thought to the back of my mind. Harley looked beat, but she was beautiful as always. Eddie sat in the window seat, and Jade was at his wife's bedside as she held their new baby boy.

He was precious! I could tell Nicky was just absolutely melting at the sight of such a precious angel.

"What's the little trouble maker's name?" I asked.

"Gray." Harley smiled. "It was Jade's choice."

"It's beautiful!" Nicky coed. "He's beautiful."

"You want to hold him?" She asked.

He froze, suddenly shrinking down in his spot. Nicky was scared to touch the baby because of his HIV. I know this man all too well. He looked up at me with shaky eyes.

I sighed. "May I?"

Harley sympathetically smiled. "Yeah, of course."

She handed the baby to me. He was so tiny and delicate! Now I see why Nicky was scared.

"You look good with a baby." Jade smirked.

"H-he does." Nicky muttered, smiling up through some hair that had fallen in his face.

"You would too, if you'd come hold him." I teased, to which he blushed but said nothing. "Oh, get over here, asshole."

The baby smiled a bit. Harley took notice as she rolled her eyes. "You're already teaching my kid bad habits."

The whole room died laughing. This kid's definitely apart of our family!

Nicky finally took Gray into his arms. I've never seen a smile that bright on him... Wow. He looked so angelic holding that baby, like it's where he belongs.

"And I looked good holding a baby?" I muttered to myself, then changed the subject as I turned to Harley. "So you look like shit."

Harley shot me a dirty look jokingly. She laughed a tad, as did I. "Hey, I did just push a kid out of me and probably gave Jade some nerve damage in his hand."

"I'm going to be honest, Babe. Towards the end I seriously thought you were going to kill me." Jade admitted, having a little fear in his eyes from the flashback.

Eddie giggled. "She would have if she didn't need you to pay the bills!"

"It'd also be nice if Gray kept his father." She added.

"Speaking of family, why isn't Seamus here?" Nicky asked aloud.

The room suddenly got very quiet. Jade sighed, looking back at Eddie and exchanging glances with him, but no words came of it. We just assumed the worst; He told them he wasn't coming.

Our depressing moment was suddenly broken as we all laughed, hearing Arianna down the hall. She was freaking out, she was so happy.

Her and Kevin walked in the room. He went and gave Eddie a bro-hug, while she ran over to Nicky and had a cuteness induced anxiety attack.

When she finally calmed down, she asked, "Can I hold him? Just for like two seconds?"

Nicky glanced back at Harley, and she nodded. "Go head and let crazy hold him. Kevin, I told you to keep her away from the sugar and caffeine."

"The sad part is, I did." He sighed.

I snickered, putting my arm around Nicky's waist. "We better get going. Don't want it to get too crowded in here."

"Alright, drive safe." Jade replied.

We gave them a wave goodbye, then walked to the car. As we drove down the road, heat on high, I thought out loud.

"We're going to be good parents. I know it." I muttered.

"Yeah," He grinned. "We will."
