Ella's POV

Our house was being packed up by movers as I waited for CC to come pick up my sister and I. Everything is in boxes, and the house is nothing but a shell. It's so weird. I can't imagine how Carolyn must feel. This was all she ever knew.

I'm also scared to move away from all I've ever known. I kept in touch with some of my friends from elementary school, and they seem happy that I'm coming back. It's hard to leave my friends here, though. I didn't have a lot though. Guess that's for the best.

CC's car pulled up, and Carolyn and I grabbed out bags. He came out, hugged me, then helped us load up so we can head to the airport.

The car ride was a little... Awkward, and tense. We knew this was going to be that last time we'd really see each other for a while. Yeah, he'll come through town on tour, but it won't be the same.

He stopped the car at the drop off. There was an employee lady waiting for us to help us through, since we're still minors. CC got out of the car and put our bags on the curb.

He turned to me and sighed, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Well, kiddo, guess I won't be seeing you for a while. Take good care of yourself and the little munchkin, and you know you can always call!"

"You're going to visit whenever you're in town, right?" I asked with glassy eyes.

"Of course!" He smiled. "We have to finish up this album, then we'll go on tour in the fall and I'll see you then."

"Okay." I huffed, placing my hand on top of his, that still rested on my shoulder. "Thank you, for everything."

"Don't mention it!" CC chirped, then leaned in and hugged me, kissing my cheek. "Love you, Buttercup."

I gently placed my hand over where he kissed me, probably smiling and blushing like an idiot. "Love you too."

Ryder's POV

When I got up this morning, Nicky was already gone from the bed. After looking around for him, I found he was in his studio already, working. I just got the feeling, it'd be best not to bother him.

The band kind of went our separate ways after we broke up once and for all. There's been some talks about a farewell tour, but that's a conversation for well after Harley pops her kid out.

Jade decided to buy out the old shop we used to work at, and last I heard he's looking at a few more to invest in. Harley is back to writing, hoping to become a published author soon, and Nicky, he's selling his paintings along with working on his own line of drums. I, however, have yet to figure out what the fuck to do.

Alright, that's a lie. I do know, very well, but I'm not ready to admit it to Nicky. He's going to die when I tell him, I wanna go into my old man's business. He's a (retired) bounty hunter, and when he did it, he made good money. After many years on the streets, and a few years under his roof, I learned how to hold my own and take down scum. Those weeks in Juvi really helped me learn the law, too.

It's the perfect career for me, but Nicky won't want me to because it's so dangerous. Deep down, he knows I'm smart enough to stay safe! He just doesn't want to admit I'm capable of handling the job.

I know it's about time I talk to him about it. There was nothing standing in my way other than my fear of rejection and confrontation. I made us fresh spaghetti, one of his favorites, and walked into his studio/office, setting a bowl down at his desk and grabbing the extra chair in the room.

"You've been working hard, take a break." I said.

"Now, if I told you that, you'd say breaks are for pussies." He laughed as he turned his chair to face me, but he didn't grab the bowl.

"What can I say?" I shrugged, pushing the bowl towards him. "I'm stubborn."

Nicky sighed, pulling up his legs and rested them on the edge of my chair. He grabbed the food and slowly started to pick at it.

"You know I hate being pushed, which isn't good since I'm a total push over." He spoke, trying to make it sound like a joke when it truly wasn't.

I leaned forward a bit, rubbing my hand up his leg. "I don't like to push you, but it's for your own well being."

"God, I hate that I love you." He muttered, moving his eyes off mine.

I snickered a bit. "What's life without tough love, Babe? Listen, I need to talk to you about me finding a job."

"I already know what you're going to say. You've been talking about it for years." He sighed, playing with his fork. "I... I thought about it. If you want to take over your dad's business, I want us to finally... Expand. I thought, it's a fare enough trade off."

I took a deep breath, letting the thought play throughout my mind. "If you think we're ready."

"I do... I, I think we could use some change in our lives. Change is healthy, after all."

"Yeah, yeah it is." I softly smiled.
