Moments later she reached Alina's house, struggling to ignore the close proximity to Jay's apartment. Alina ran up to her, wrapping her in a big hug before dragging her inside, hurrying to fill her in with everything. She just smiled and listened to her talking, she had missed her so much. Suddenly, her tone changed.

"Aisha...about Jay...he killed again," she said carefully, her eyes founding Aisha's.

"Anyone we know?"

"Yeah, remember the girl who failed her exam and yelled at the teacher about it for the next 10 minutes before leaving the room?"

"Tiffany, wasn't it?"

"Yes, her. I'm so bad with names."

"What happened?"

"I don't know, he wouldn't tell. Just said he blacked out."

"That's not how it works."

"I know that," she rolled her eyes with a sigh.

"How about you? Do your demons leave you alone?" Aisha tried to stir away the conversation.

"Mine are super calm so it's not that big of a problem, remember? We just chat from time to time" she chuckled. "Yours?"

"Claire showed me how to deal with them; we are on the same side now. Besides, I starved them out so they don't have enough power to rebel anyways."

"You and Claire...are you a thing now?"

"I'm working on it," she sighed. "Anything on the horizon for you? Lucas, perhaps?"

"Dating would require a soul and I think he is lacking in that department," Alina laughed, Aisha joining her moments later. "Caring might be a little bit out of his depth," she agreed with a grin.

"But you were right, he is great in bed," Alina remarked to which Aisha nodded solemnly, trying not to think about how his sister was, instead.

"One would assume he would be the one walking around killing people, not Jay," Alina said after a few moments of silence. Before Aisha could reply, there was a knock on the door. After Alina's "It's open!" Claire walked in.

She made her way across the room without saying a word. She stopped right in front of Aisha, cupping her face with both hands and kissing her without hesitation. A few seconds later she moved away slowly and whispered a soft "thank you."

"What was that for?" Aisha sighed out, frazzled.

"I had a really hard day and I needed it," she shrugged in response, creating some distance between them. Aisha had to force herself to not whine in protest.

"What happened?"

"It's Jay. They want me to kill Jay."

"Who?"

"That girl who was in the hospital shortly after that friend of yours died... you know, red hair, crying, accusing you of whatever..."

"Caleb's sister...she wants a revenge."

"Jay needs to leave the country. And he needs to do it now."

"No, you have to do what she told you to do. If you say no, she will find someone else. And you are the best so he won't suffer, right?"

"And risk you hating me forever? I prefer him suffering. I'm selfish like that."

"He killed again, Claire. He can't control himself and he will kill again. I'm asking you to put him out of his misery."

"You want me to kill your ex-boyfriend?"

"What if I say please?"

Claire looked at Alina then, hoping for support but was only meet with her smirking face, quite obviously not paying attention to anything that had happened after the kiss.

"Didn't you say you two weren't dating?"

Of course... Claire groaned in annoyance, turning back to Aisha. "No, Alina, we aren't," the brunette answered, exasperated. "Now focus, Jess hired Claire to kill Jay."

"You'd be doing him a favour...you know, since they haven't made a painkiller for heartbreak yet."

The wave of guilt overcame Aisha who sought out Claire's calm, silver gaze. The black-haired beauty offered her a smile before speaking again. "I'll ask him."

"That's gonna be a delightful convo. Hey Jay, I don't think you remember me but I'm the girl who ran away with your girlfriend. How would you feel about me killing you?" Aisha groaned.

"Ex-girlfriend," she shrugged as if that would change everything. "He is outside with Lucas, I'll go ahead and talk to him. But if he as much as expresses a concern about dying, we are running away. All of us."

"Why all of us, he can run on his own."

"If he goes alone, he will keep killing and create a trail of bodies. Won't end well for anyone. I'd go alone with him to keep him in check but we have already established you want to stay by my side. Lucas will go because he is oh so inclined on bonding despite ignoring me for the past fifty years and I don't think Alina would want to be the only one who stays behind. So yes, Ai, all of us," Claire answered before turning on her heel, marching out to find the boys.

"You will stay by her side? And you two aren't dating?" Alina quirked her brow at Aisha once Claire couldn't hear them anymore.

"You know, no matter how many times you ask, the answer stays the same."
