They couldn't reach out to Jay for the next few days and hadn't heard from Claire either, making Aisha's anxiety skyrocket. She missed her. With every breath she took, she missed her more. She missed her ebony black hair, so soft against Aisha's skin, she missed her soft lips, she missed her gleaming grey eyes, she missed her little smile, reserved just for the brunette, she missed feeling her body against her own whenever it was time to rest...she missed her. And the thought that something bad had happened to her was eating her alive and her insides were threatening to give up on her as her heart pumped fear through her veins each second of those days that could easily be described as her personal hell. Where was Claire?
"I can barely feel him anymore," Alina said for the hundredth time. Lucas rolled his eyes and groaned in response, "We know."
Aisha closed her eyes to shut them out, she had no energy for their constant bickering.
Seconds later, she was in the prison cell. There were smudged blood stains on the floor that she was looking at. She was standing. Or more so, she was watching from a standing perspective. Jay was more hanging rather than actually standing, his arms tied together to the ceiling, the rest of his body limp. He was shirtless, scars from recent whipping covering every visible inch of his upper body. There was blood still running from few of them and she could feel him losing consciousness.
"Jay, stay alive for me, you will be okay," she let out without even thinking about it. He spat out the blood that was clearly gagging him already and looked around in confusion.
"I'm inside your mind, silly," she said, chuckling lightly.
"Aisha..." he whispered. "I'll find my way out, you stay where you are, they clearly can't find you," he said, his eyes struggling to stay open.
"We are in Paris, Jay. And we can't help you if you don't tell us where you are."
After she said that, she was left in the silence for a few moments.
"I'll come to you, I just need more time. Don't try to contact me again, it's dangerous. I'll be okay," he said, determination lacing his every word, before he shut her out.
She was back in the room again, with Lucas and Alina staring at her, bewildered. She wondered what they were seeing and hearing while she was inside Jay's head. "See for yourselves," she sighed resignedly, taking their hands and opening her mind for them.
"What does he mean he is going to be okay?" Alina snapped after the memory ended.
"Don't ask me," Aisha sighed, too tired to even go to the bathroom in case she threw up from the pain again. "Well, just let him do his thing and if he dies tell him you told him so," Lucas shrugged, leaning against the headboard of the bed he was sharing with Alina. "Not helping," the aforementioned blonde groaned, punching his shoulder lightly.
"At least we know he is alive," he defended calmly. "We can't claim that about my sister."
"Shut up," Aisha mumbled, panic already taking over her entire body. "Asshole!" Alina hissed at Lucas who cackled in response, covering his eyes with his arm. Meanwhile Alina rushed towards the bed Aisha was on.
"She is alright," she said softly, hugging the shivering brunette. "Claire is strong and she wouldn't let anyone hurt her," she continued while gently rocking her.
"What if she doesn't want to fight?" Aisha let out a question that had been on her mind ever since her girlfriend had left.
"Because of that little fight you had?" Lucas asked, incredulity seeping into his tone. "One more reason to stay alive, she would want to make things right with you before she goes."
"I just miss her," Aisha admitted quietly, tears filling her eyes. "I miss her so much I can't breathe because it hurts and it feels like my heart is going to explode."
"You miss who?" the most beautiful voice that Aisha had ever heard in her life filled her ears.
"Claire," she half whispered, awe tinting her voice as she turned around to face her. She was leaning against the door frame, smirking at the shocked brunette. "I missed you too, babe," she said softly, opening her arms up in a silent invitation. Aisha practically bolted out of her seat and into Claire's open arms.
"Welcome back," she said, kissing her gently. Finally, she felt okay again.
