"I was supposed to take bio exam today," Alina broke the silence as they made their way down that dusty road that led to the house Lucas and Claire had grown up in.

"I don't know shit about bio," Aisha shrugged while trying to locate the ageing building in the distance.

"How did you pass the damn tests then?" asked Jay, remembering that neither of the girls was failing their classes, at least up until recently when Aisha had dropped out.

"I mostly listened to Alina," she grinned, mischievous glint in her eyes as she winked at the aforementioned blonde who stuck a tongue out at her.

"You cheat," Lucas chastised half-heartedly, laughing along with the pair.

"Can you guys walk while talking?" Claire deadpanned. When everyone but Jay quickened their pace, she quirked a brow at him. "Is there a problem?" she asked, observing the way his face contorted into a look of a defiant toddler. She really wanted to kill him then, but opted on giving him a glare instead. Something in her gaze, however, must have told him he was playing with the devil herself so he just muttered a "Sorry I'm not too excited to spend the night at your place," before rushing behind his friends. "Neither am I," she sighed, following along.

As they passed the playground, Aisha's anxiety started creeping in again so she hurried to get closer to Claire, who had taken the lead of the group once again. She felt the brunette next to her and took her shaky hand into hers and squeezed it gently. "It's just a house, babe. Forget the things that happened in it, the house had nothing to do with it. My uncle is dead, the place is safe now," she whispered gently, soothing the worry just as they reached the front door and made their way into the lobby of the house.

"Now where are we going to sleep?" she turned to Lucas while still holding Aisha's hand.

"Basement..." Lucas smiled innocently and shrugged.

"You want to sleep in the dungeons?" Claire lets asked, incredulity seeping into her voice.

"No...I lived here for many years, remember? So I made myself a room in the basement, not in the dungeons. You know how I always wanted a room that was just one big bed? That's what I did," he grinned, looking very pleased with himself.

"Oh that's how you spend all your money," Claire rolled her eyes. "How did you accomplish that?"

"I met a guy. He was an incompetent bag of cells but did whatever I asked him to do, really. So I told him I want a giant bed that could fill up the entire room and he provided. I didn't ask how, to be honest, I never really cared much."

"Yeah, caring is a little bit out of your depth," his sister agreed before following him down the stairs.

"What are the dungeons?" Alina whispered, directing her question to Aisha who just shook her head. "You do not want to know."
