"This just shows that you don't know anything about my job," Claire remarked as Lucas took his position in the front while Aisha sat in the back seat, too weak and drained to talk.

"No, I really don't. Dad was the one interested in it, remember? I mean, I could ask him about it but it will be really hard since you killed him."

Claire shook her head and kept driving.

"What kind of job makes you kill your own dad?" Lucas asked without any emotion in his voice but pure curiosity.

"That wasn't part of the job Lucius," Claire nearly whispered, glancing in her brothers' direction. "I didn't do it for my own enjoyment either if that's what you think. You and I both know he was out of control. Yes we both forgave him that he killed mom and tortured you for months. He wanted to make our family last forever. But he didn't think we will leave him, did he? I think that's why he lost his damn mind and turned random, innocent people. He kidnapped them, Lucius. Someone had to stop him."

"Who else than his own daughter huh? I bet he didn't see that one coming." Lucas laughed.

"Don't be an ass Lucius," Claire chastised but there was a hint of amusement in her tone.

Since when was killing your father funny?

"I knew it was you the second I walked through the door. I have to say you are good at what you do," Lucas complimented. They both appeared as if they were talking about the weather.

"I figured you were the one who found the body because there was no police investigation. Where did you bury our old man?" she asked and again, there was no emotion in her voice.

"Next to mom, I figured she would want that," Lucas shrugged.

"Is that why you came back? To bury him?"

"No I did that a few weeks before meeting Aisha. I went back home because it was moms' birthday, remember? And also it was the anniversary of the day dad let Aisha and others go. I wanted to distract her from remembering that because I could feel her demon wearing off and I didn't want her feelings to overwhelm her."

"Hold up, he released his victims on moms' birthday? How tragically poetic of him."

After Claire said that, silence rested upon them for a few moments before Lucas called her name softly, making her turn towards him.

"You did the right thing. He had to be stopped; no one wants a life like this, except maybe you."

"I would much rather be dead."

With that, Claire parked her car on the hospitals' parking lot that was jam-packed as usual. Lucas held the door for her and caught her by her arm before she could fall. Her legs simply couldn't support her weight at the moment. He wrapped his arm around her and led her towards the hospital.
