Goodbye

"They are here," Claire informed them and Aisha followed her outside to say her last goodbye. She took a look at the group of men who came to take her girlfriend away from her. There were five of them and they all looked deadly to her.

The guy closest to Aisha turned his head to face her. His eyes; a well of jet black ink, were empty and cold. He smiled the sort of smile that chilled her blood and cocked his head towards Claire. "Are you ready to kill?" he grinned.

Claire nodded, matching his grin with ease but it all went unnoticed by her girlfriend who couldn't turn her eyes away from him. It seemed as if the words that just left his mouth ignited a fire in his eyes as his smile turned evil. He wasn't in it for revenge; he was in it because of his desire for blood. Realising that, she pulled Claire aside to ask her about it.

"Babe...they are all contract killers like me. They just enjoy killing a lot more than I do. But the one who caught your eye, Manuel, he is the most tamed of them all. Yes he enjoys the killing but at least he isn't into torture. The one I might be worried about is Fabian. Do you see the guy with long brown hair and a hat? The one with sunglasses? That's him. He doesn't really specialise in killing but he is very good at getting information out of people, if you know what I mean...but they are all close to me so don't worry about that. If anything you should be relieved I'm going to fight monsters with even bigger monsters," she said, smiling at her. Aisha didn't look convinced. Claire herself was a terrifying creature to behold, and these men were no exception to those traits either. They all had that same all-knowing look about them. As though they could each peel back every secret she had possessed with one simple stare. Well, she figured they'd acquire her secret with force too if the need arose but she quickly shut that train of thought off. She figured the main difference between the men and Claire was that Claire was disciplined. Controlled. Those men appeared a little less... well, stable.

"I'll take your word on that," she laughed, trying to mask her uneasiness before kissing her one last time. "Are you going to wait for me?" she whispered and Aisha could see fear rooted deep in her gaze. "Until you come back to me, babe," she confirmed, stealing one last peck on the soft lips she grew to love so much.

Claire smiled and kissed her forehead. "I'll see you soon," she said before joining the group of killers.

Unable to watch them leave, afraid she might break down, Aisha turned on her heel and went back inside, joining Jay and Alina with packing. "So where are we going?" Alina asked once all of their belongings were safely tucked into their respective bags.

"Claire suggested that we leave Europe, so I was thinking Australia or New Zealand or something," Jay replied, uncertainty lacing his voice. He never asked to be the leader and quite honestly, he didn't know how to be one.

"I always wanted to go to New Zealand," Alina smiled, encouragingly, trying to spark some confidence in him. "New Zealand, it is," Aisha joined her, forcing a smile on her face.

Jay looked at them with a face full of gratitude and smiled. "It's been so long since it was just the three of us," he chuckled somewhat shyly. Aisha supposed he might have been reluctant on bringing back those days, with them dating and whatnot.

"Oh how I miss those times, all I had to worry about is if you are going to wake up in the middle of the night and slit my throat," she winked at him with a grin, in order to let him know she wasn't bothered by their past any longer.

"Good old days," he smirked up at her, nodding solemnly. "All right, girls, let's get out of here."
