Pancakes

Warm is all you could feel and black was all you could see.
You wanted to get up but you couldn't. It was like all the energy in your body has been extracted. You felt too tired to open your eyes, let alone sit up.
The strong aroma of freshly cooked pancakes and sweet syrup caused you to feel some energy in your body. Slowly but surely, you woke up in the bed you shared bed alongside your boyfriend with an unusually dry throat.
You didn't remember getting into bed, all you remembered was laying on the couch with Jin as you both watched movies.
You slowly sat up just as the door to the bedroom opened, revealing your boyfriend Seokjin carrying a tray which contained a glass of water, some medicine and breakfast.
"Oh, jagiya! You're awake!" He said with a slightly surprised tone before quickly placing down the tray on the end table beside the bed and quickly giving you a kiss on your forehead.
"Here drink this and take this," he said to you as he handed you the glass of water and a pill. You took the pill from him, put it in your mouth and quickly drank water. You drank more water than needed since your throat felt extremely dry.
You wondered how long you've been sleeping and what happened to make you feel like this. "What happened?" You asked Jin as you handed him the now empty glass of water. He sat next to you on the bed and placed the tray with your breakfast onto your lap.
You took a bit of the delicious pancake your boyfriend had made you as you waited for him to explain. "Well, I saved your life!" He exclaimed, quickly pointing a finger at you something he usually does when yelling at Jungkook.
You stopped yourself from putting a fork full of pancake into your mouth to stare at Seokjin with a face that said 'I doubt that I was about to die, please actually tell me what happened.' He continued to go on about how he supposedly 'saved your life' as you continued to stare at him in disbelief.
Jin always over exaggerates things, it's one of your favourite things about him, but at that moment you really wanted to know what happened to you.
"Jin," you said in a voice that expresses that you're done with his jokes and genuinely want to know what had happened to you. He stops his rambling to look at you.
You had thought that this was the end, that he would stop insisting that you were on the brink of death and he had managed to save your life. You, however, realised that you were wrong when he had continued on over-exaggerating.
"Yah I'm the doctor! You should believe what I say!" He exclaimed while pointing his index finger at you. Seokjin works at the hospital as a doctor. You have always been proud of his accomplishment of becoming a doctor but sometimes it became too much. He would always over-care for you for the slightest of things. You could have a slight cough and he would act like you're dying of a disease. At moments you found it very cute how he would act like this. At other moments, you'd feel slightly annoyed, not wanting to be treated like a patient at the hospital for something so small. Currently, you were feeling the latter.
You used the little energy in your body to hit him on the shoulder, which made both you and Seokjin laugh.
Seokjin suddenly stopped laughing then looked at you with a serious face. "Yah! THAT IS A SIN! You shouldn't hit your boyfriend like that!" He over-exaggerated as he grabbed his shoulder faking pain. He had started slightly massaging his own shoulder when you decided to keep eating your breakfast, the scent of the food making it irresistible. The both of you had been sitting in silence doing your own thing, you finishing your breakfast and him just observing you.
You were just about to start your second pancake when Jin started talking. "You fainted while we were watching a movie," he said quietly as if he refused to believe that it had happened. In surprise, you dropped your fork on the plate and looked at him, suddenly feeling bad for how you previously treated him.
You realised something. The reason why Jin kept lightening the mood with his over-exaggeration is because he was genuinely scared for you.
Jin was so confused and concerned when one minute you were watching a movie with him and rubbing circles on his arm then the next minute you suddenly stopped and fell straight into his lap. When it happened, he immediately felt your forehead and felt that you were burning hot and brought you into your shared bedroom so you could properly lay down. After he had laid you down, he rushed to get a cold, damp towel to place onto your head to help bring your temperature down.
He was always by your side and constantly checked you to make sure that you were still breathing and that your temperature went down. He had even called one of his fellow doctors, Namjoon, to ask for advice as to what he should do.
You fainting had really scared him, you saw it in the look on his face.
You looked down, slightly embarrassed for what you had done. You had practically made fun of him for joking around with you. "I'm sorry," you said still looking down, now playing with your fingers. Seokjin lifted up your chin to make you look at him then grabbed your hand, kissing it.
"Why're you sorry jagiya?" He asked with his lips still pressed onto your hands. You pouted as you looked at him.
You felt so bad for scaring him and you felt even worse for getting slightly annoyed with his way of making everything seem better.
"For scaring you," you replied, now looking directly in his eyes. Seokjin could see the sadness in your eyes. He understood you. He knew exactly how you felt without needing you to say anything else.
He slightly leaned his head towards the left before placing a loving kiss on the tip of your nose. He then brought you into his arms to hug you, knowing that you needed it. He had you pressed tightly against his chest as a way to comfort you for how you currently felt.
"Did you know that Dorothy's medical instructor was the Wizard of Gauze," he randomly said to you, hoping to help you feel better even more. You slightly moved away from his chest to stare at him. Of course he would use a dad joke to make you feel better. And of course it worked because he's your boyfriend and because his laugh always makes you feel better.
"I hate you," you said staring at him and judging him for his dad joke. He laughs again before bringing you back into his chest.
"No you don't, you love me," he said with his head resting on top of yours.
"I do," you said smiling against his chest.
"I love you too jagiya."
