Chapter Twenty-One: You Look Better In It Anyway.
♡ Jessica Washington ♡
The day of Tyler's Halloween party arrives on Tuesday. Yesterday, I went out shopping after work with Olivia to find something to wear, but eventually I just stuck with a costume based on Little Red Riding Hood, but the only thing linking me to her really is the small red cape.
The party starts in around an hour, and I'm currently in my room getting ready with Olivia. Olivia is going as an angel, so she is wearing a short white dress with wings attached to her back, with a gold headband on her head to represent a halo.
I'm wearing a red and black dress. The top part above the waist is black, and is quite low and tight, while at the waist it flows out into a loose red skirt which comes down to about mid-thigh, maybe just above. Over the black part of the dress I have a red cape, which comes down to my waist and has a hood on, but I'm not wearing the hood at the moment.
I've painted my nails the same shade of red, also wearing a red lipstick. I'm also wearing foundation, concealer, highlighter, contour, bronzer, blusher, gold eyeshadow, black eyeliner and black mascara. This is more makeup than I have probably worn in my life, but Olivia keeps telling me it looks fine, probably because she was the one who put it on me.
"Have fun tonight, okay? Have a drink, socialise, do whatever, just enjoy yourself. Don't let Tyler or Luke or even River stop you from having a laugh tonight," Olivia tells me, and I roll my eyes.
"Fine, I will have the time of my life," I mutter sarcastically, as I brush my hair. I decide to curl it loosely, so it falls down in waves instead of full on ringlets. Olivia is straightening her hair while I do this, having already done her makeup.
Once we have finished getting ready, we leave my room and head downstairs to go to the party. Loud music is already playing, we can hear it from a few streets away. Olivia and I walk in, and I see loads of sweaty people either stood socialising or dancing around, already quite drunkenly.
"I'm going to go make friends, you should do the same, I'll meet you at the end of the night to go home," Olivia tells me, before abandoning me. I sigh, rolling my eyes, before taking a drink off of the table and finding somewhere to sit down.
I look around once I've sat down and I'm as comfortable as I possible can be considering how uncomfortable this whole situation makes me. I can see a lot of people I know. Tyler is stood talking to a group of people from the football team, River is talking to a girl, and Olivia has found herself a boy to talk to, while I'm sat alone with a drink. Maybe this is an insight into my future.
"Sat alone then, that's not surprising," Bella comments from next to me, and I look up at her and roll my eyes. Bella is dressed as a cat, with little black cat ears on her head and a tight black bodysuit.
"I don't see you speaking to anyone else besides me," I reply, taking a sip of my drink.
"But I don't have to try so hard, because everyone wants to speak to me, unlike you," Bella replies, smirking slightly at me.
"Okay," I just agree with her, since I don't really want to speak to her for any longer, as the loud music is starting to give me a headache. Bella just raises an eyebrow, but it does the trick, as she gets bored and walks off to find someone to dance with.
