As Kakashi and I walked one of the busy roads of Konoha, I glanced at him. He had his hands stuffed in his pockets. He was also just staring straight ahead, not looking around or anything. I guess I was looking at him too long or something because he turned his head and stared back at me,

"What are you looking at?"

I turned away and looked straight ahead again,

"Nothing. Just wondering what makes you act like a jerk."

I heard him scoff,

"It's called actually following the rules. Maybe you should try it sometime."

My gaze shifted down to my feet as I walked,

"Maybe you should learn to lighten up everyonce in awhile."

We walked in silence for a little while longer, before I ask,

"So uh, what do you do for fun around here?"

He looks at me skeptically, but replies,

"I train, what do you do?"

I raised an eyebrow at him,

"Training? That's not very fun. I mostly just read, or sleep. It really depends on how I'm feeling."

Kakashi nods slightly,

"What's your favorite colour?"

Huh, when we're not trying to kill each other, we get along pretty well.

I mean, small-talk wise yeah.

Isn't that just a wonderful surprise?

"I'd say orange, but I l-"

Maybe I shouldn't have been still staring at my feet because I bumped into someone.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention,"

I looked up at the person, and kind of wished I hadn't. It was an older man, his hair was brown with grey showing through. His clothes were baggy and his shirt was ripped on his right shoulder,

"Watch where you're going next time you brat."

I turned away from him and muttered,

"Sorry."

I went to catch up with Kakashi, but the man grabbed me.

really didn't like that.

It brought up some bad memories.

I tried pulling myself away from they guy, but he only tightens his grip on both my wrists. Which at this point was really starting to hurt,

"Let me go you creep!"

"Not until you give me a proper apology," The man had a devilish grin on his face.

I felt panic clouding my thoughts,

"I already said sorry!"

The guy replies with,

"You interupted my important business. I want more than just a verbal apology now."

"What? No way!"

I looked around frantically,

"K-Kakashi!"

I knew I wasn't going to be able to do anything against this guy in my current state, but Kakashi could. The man momentarily let go of one of my wrists, unfortunately he pulled my hair with that free hand,

"Shut up, lets go."

I tried resisting as the guy pulled me behind himself.

"What do you think you're doing with my friend?"

I heard Kakashi question from behind me. The guy stops and turns around to look at Kakashi, well that's what I assumed he did.

"Who do you think you're talking to kid?"

"The idiot who thought they could take advantage of my friend."

The guy let me go and pushed me as he stalked off towards Kakashi. I clenched my eyes shut and pressed my hands over my ears. There was muffled voices and shuffling near me. The noises stopped after a few moments. I involuntarily flinched as someone put their hand on my shoulder.

I opened my eyes a little to see it was Kakashi. My body kind of moved by itself because I now found myself with my arms around his neck and my face against his shoulder. He tensed up considerably at my embrace, but returned the gesture.

"Are you okay?" He spoke quietly.

I nodded and he adds,

"You know this doesn't make me trust you anymore than what I already did, right? It doesn't change anything between us."

I let go of him and wiped away the tears I didn't know I even shed,

"I know, you jerk."
