"Keira, you're pregnant."

As the words passed her lips, I felt a state of shock overcome me. I was pregnant. I was pregnant.

"K...Kakashi!"

His name had hardly left my mouth before I turned on my heel and practically sprinted back to the main room with my tail wavering behind myself, I pretty much jumped onto Kakashi's lap once I got there. I put my legs on either side of him, so I was straddling him. He grunts at my action and drops his book to the side, he places his hands on my hips as he asks,

"What happened?"

It felt as if I was on top of the world right now and nothing could bring me down, this was what I've been waiting so long to hear. I never would have imagined Amaya coming over to tell me, but I'm grateful that she did.

"I'm pregnant, you idiot! We're going to be parents!"

I felt Kakashi's whole body stiffen up underneath my weight, it was evidently clear that he was just as surprised, yet happy, as I was right now. His visible eye widens slightly, and he says more so to himself,

"Parents?"

I nodded profusely and proceeded to hug him, I pressed my face to his neck as I close my eyes. Kakashi's hold tightens slightly, I heard Amaya say from my right,

"I'm happy for you two, congratulations. But Keira, I'm going to need you to come to the hospital with me immediately."

At the serious tone to her voice with her last few words, I felt my heart sink. I raised my head to look at her as I ask,

"Why? Is there something wrong?"

Amaya shakes her head with a sigh and solemnly says,

"There may be, I want to do a test on you to be positive. It may just be nothing that I'm fretting over, but I want to be absolutely sure."

I watched in worry and anticipation as Amaya moves a weird looking thing across my flat stomach, I think she was looking for the baby, but I couldn't be sure. Kakashi was standing to my left, letting me hold his hand in an attempt to convey his feelings of worry were just as sky-high as mine were at the moment.

What if she couldn't find our baby? What if it was just a false positive?

As these thoughts went through my head, I missed the smile that spread across Amaya's lips. She looks away from the monitor to Kakashi and I while saying,

"It turns out it was nothing serious, I wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong with running your test results. Well, if you look here,"

She pauses and I look up from my thoughts, she uses her free hand to point at a blotch that was slightly different from all the others on the screen,

"That's your baby. Again, congratulations you two. If you'd like, I could get a picture of this ultrasound for you to take home with you."

I simply nodded, I was too perplexed by what I was looking at. There was a baby inside of me, a baby I would actually get to see grow up.

Kakashi's baby.

Kakashi went to talk with Tsunade while I returned to our apartment soon after Amaya told us I was for sure pregnant, and she gave me a picture of the ultrasound. I was currently lying on my back on the couch while holding it above my head, staring at it, studying it intently. I still couldn't believe it actually, this whole situation was just feeling so surreal. It was almost like I could just wake up at any moment, and suddenly realize that I'm not pregnant, and that I was just dreaming. But, gladly, this was all real. And there wasn't anything that could take this away from me. Well, there was one thing. One, dreadful, awful thing.
