Off To The Land Of Waves

As I pulled my shirt over my head, I heard Kakashi say,

"We're going to get a new mission today. I'm hoping we get something that's good enough for the Genin."

I hummed in response, then say,

"Yeah, me too. It seems like Naruto is getting all pent up because we haven't had a good mission lately."

So, our first task of the day was to catch Tora the cat. Again. We caught the cat out in the forest, and he scratched Naruto all over again. Poor kid.

But I feel even worse for the cat, he was pretty much being smothered to death by his owner, who happened to be the wife of the Feudal Lord for the Land of Fire. She was called Madam Shijimi, I think.

The cat was struggling to get away from her as she hugs it, and rubs her cheeks against it while gushing,

"Ohh, my cute Tora-chan! I was so worried about you!"

Naruto laughs while rubbing the back of his head,

'That cat's getting what he deserves'

Team Sevens attention turned to the Third Hokage as he reads from a paper while saying,

"Now then, Kakashi's seventh unit's next mission is...."

He pauses for a moment, it kind of seemed like he was contemplating on what mission to give us. I just hope it's something Naruto won't get upset about,

"Babysitting Yojyu-sama's boy. Grocery shopping at the neighboring town. Helping dig up potatoes at..."

"No!"

Naruto interrupts, he steps forward and crosses his arms in an 'x' shape. I could only sigh, of course he'd be the one to talk back to the Hokage,

"No thanks to all of those! I want a more exciting mission! Choose something else!"

Iruka, who was sitting next to the Third Hokage, stands up while slamming his hands on the desk in front of himself and says,

"Idiot! You're still a novice ninja! Everyone needs to start with the easy missions to gain experience!"

"But, but...!" Naruto starts to say,

"We've only been doing dumb missions lately!"

Naruto falls to the floor as Kakashi whacks him on the back of the head, I let out a silent breath of relief. That kid really needs to learn to keep his cool, and just accept whatever we get. I'll have to talk with him about that later when I have a chance.

"Cut it out," Kakashi says, it even sounded like he was done with Naruto's usual loud attitude for the day.

"Naruto,"

The Third says angrily,

"It looks like I need to explain to you what missions are. Listen, a lot of clients come to the village everyday. They request things from babysitting to assassinations. On the request list, a variety of requests are listed on it...and they are separated into ranks A, B, C, and D according to difficulty. In this village, we separate the people into Jounins, Chuunins, and Genins according to their abilities. We higher officials assign the missions to ninja with the appropriate abilities. And if we complete the mission, we receive a fee from the client."

He points towards our team with the hand his pipe was in,

"You have all become Genins just recently, so D ranked missions are best for you."

It's great he just explained that and all, but Naruto wasn't even paying attention to him anymore. The blonde had his back to him and way saying,

"I had tonkotsu ramen yesterday, so I'm going to eat a miso ramen today."
