The First Mission And New Friends

"Listen up everyone, we've got a mission today,"

Minato says as he walks over to Rin, Kakashi, Obito, and myself. Obito sticks his fist into the air,

"Sweet! I bet it's something really cool!"

Minato smiles,

"It's a very important job, I want you all to do your best. Today, we're going to be picking weeds around the village."

Obito lowers his fist,

"Awww, what? That isn't cool at all!"

Minato had us split into groups of two. It was Rin and Kakashi, and Obito and myself. I would rather work with the Uchiha. Only because I didn't know Rin too well, and it would be awkward around Kakashi after yesterday.

Looking over at the two, I saw Rin watching Kakashi with what I assumed was a loving gaze. He didn't seem to notice, or he didn't care, he looked over at me. I don't know why. Obito slings an arm over my shoulders and turns me away from the two of them,

"Come on Keira. The faster we work, the sooner we'll be done. That way when we're done, we can go get something to eat."

"Alright, but I get to pick where we eat."

After Obito and I had finished pulling our weeds, Minato let us go. I was starving by that point, and just dragged Obito to the nearest place to eat. Which was a dango shop.

As we went in, I saw there was some people that looked around our age there. One of them with a green jumpsuit and a bad bowl cut notices Obito and a grin spreads across his face,

"Hey Obito! Why don't you and your friend join us?"

Obito looks to me and nods towards the small group,

"What do you say?"

I shrugged, normally I'd refuse something like this, but as far as I could tell they were pretty nice. Plus they don't know about any of the stuff I've done, which I was glad about. This could be a good chance to make some new friends.

We sat near them, and the one with the green jumpsuit holds his hand out to me,

"Nice to meet you! My name is Gai!"

I shake his hand, he had a strong grip,

"Name's Keira."

A girl sitting next to him smiles and holds out her hand,

"Hello, my name is Kurenai. This is Asuma."

I shake each of their hands. Okay, so there's Gai, Kurenai, and Asuma. I've got to remember that.

When Obito and I finished our food, and were done talking to the others, we left the dango shop. It was getting pretty late, the sky was turning dark fast. Obito decided he would walk me home, I didn't mind.

As we neared the apartment, I ask,

"So, do you know why Kakashi's always so bent on following the rules?"

He puts his arms behind his head and replies,

"I'm not sure, it's just how he is I guess. Have you asked him?"

I shake my head,

"I don't really want to talk to him right now. We kind of had another argument yesterday, and I think he's still mad at me."

That was a lie, I just didn't want to talk to him because I didn't know what to say. What would I say? Sorry I had a nightmare, then told you about myself? That would be stupid, I'd rather just go straight to bed and avoid him as much as possible.

As we reach the apartment door, I turn to the Uchiha,

"Thanks for walking me home, you didn't have to."

Obito flashes me a grin,

"It's no problem, I'll see you tomorrow!"

He gives me a quick hug and runs off. I couldn't help but smile, I could get used to that.
