Before the War

A brown haired altean boy ran up the steps of the castle. He was late as it is! He just got the notice so he had to hurry over there in only a few doboshes! 

"I-I'm terribly sorry for being late, my princess." The boy said with a boy. 

The white haired princess sighed sadly and asked where Coran was. 

"H-he is out sick, my princess." The boy says formally.

"This is your first time in the castle?" The woman asked with a small sigh. 

All the poor soul could do was nod. The princess smiled softly, ruffling up the combed hair. Her smile made the taller one relax a small bit, though still tense.

After a short bit, the two Alteans started walking to the back to the meeting room with the Galra. One the two doors opened, Lance stared at the light purple skinned boy across from him.

A light blush appeared on his and the Galra boy's cheeks. This didn't go unnoticed by the superiors. The two just shrugged and stepped further into the room.

"King Zarkon, what would you like to purpose?" The white haired woman asked with her head held high.

Keith stared at the brunette next to the woman. He was really pretty and shy like. The boy was also taking everything in like it was rare milk.

"Excuse me... If I may speak, I would like to point something out." The boy murmured loudly to the others.

Zarkon looked at him with a calm attitude as Allura nodded for him to continue.

"Well, your  entire plan is really good, but going through the Flare's Vents is highly dangerous. Even with our current technology, we are still a good decafebe away from being able to even have a chance of going through her fire breaths!" For a moment the boy raised his voice as if talking with a friend before he quickly lowered it and mumbled a quick apology. "Also, it takes longer to go through there than it would if we go through the Star streamer." He suggested with a his eyes shyly looking at the floor.

Running quick calculation, Keith found that the other race was right! The whole ship would be gone in seconds! Plus it also would be longer than going anyother way.

"Sir, the boy is correct. It would be wise to not go that way and if we take Star Streamer, we'd be able to get her without higher jumping."

Zarkon nodded with a small smile as he stared at one of his soldier's son.   

"I see... Princess Allura, if we may have to room and these boys learn of our own home." Both had a small knowing smile as the princess agreed. 

Both of the boys were ushered outside as they heard more talking coming from inside the room.

"My names Lance! Thanks for back there!" The once shy boy suddenly exclaims with a big smile.

Keith smiled back as he shook Lance's hand. 

"Names Keith." 

Both boys started walking around, just talking about random things. Laughing at cheesy jokes and flirty remarks. 

"You're just a flirt aren't you?" Exclaimed the smiling yellow eyed Galra. 

Lance laughed while nodding. He knew what his friend Hunk would say. 

"Yup! It's just that this morning my girlfriend dumped me and that my instructor had just told me that I was to come here in only a few doboshes!" The brown haired boy sighed heavily as he leaned on his new friend. 

"Really? Why did she break up with you?" 

"Something about not ever loving me and that I was a waste of space." Lance's brown eyes were glazed over in tears as he thought of her harsh, cold words that had hurt him more than anything! 

"Hey, it's her lose! She lost the most amazing person ever!" Keith smiled widely, wrapping an arm around the taller one's waist. 

The two laughed as they headed into the castle's garden. They stared at the amazing flowers and other types of plants. Even though they had only known each other for no more than a few varga, they acted as if they knew each other their whole lives! 

Keith glanced at his new found crush as he placed his fingertips on the soft petals of a dark blue flower. The petals were like feathers and seemed to be glowing. It was all so beauty full, just like a certain Altean boy.

"Hey, can I pick one of these flowers?" The Galra boy asked as he looked up for once. 

"Oh! Those flowers are a way for royals or people the royals trust to say I love you to someone." I whispered to me as he blushed darkly. 

It took Keith a few ticks to understand what he meant before blushing as well. Lightly, the shorter one of the two tapped the other on the shoulder, his dark blush worsening. 

"Y-y-wow!" Keith pulled the taller one down to his face as he smashed his lips onto his own. the boys fell into a blissful kiss as they smiled. 

Once the pulled away, all they could do was laugh at how quick things were going. But, their hearts just loved the other very much and wouldn't let go. 

A decafebe passed and the two decided to start dating, even though they basically were. They cared and loved each other for everything that they were! Yet... It all changed the day... The day the Galra attacked.
