Justin’s POV:

We stayed at the water park until closing. “That was so much fun baby. Thank you so much,” Selena said as we all got in my car.

“Anything to see you smile beautiful,” I told her, giving her a kiss.

Sophia fell asleep on Fredo’s lap as we headed to their house. We were passing by Sophia’s high school when we saw on the school’s billboard that Sophia’s prom was next week.

“Hey look, Soph’s prom is next week and she has never mentioned it before,” Sel said.

“I asked her about it one time, she said she didn’t want to go because she was in a wheelchair and she saw no point in going if she couldn’t dance,” Fredo whispered to us, trying not to wake Sophia up.

“We need to convince her to go,” Sel said, looking out the window. We pulled up to the house and helped Fredo take Sophia down. I carried Sophia until Fredo got off of the car and then I handed her to back to him. Selena got their bags and Sophia’s wheelchair from the back and then went inside.

Brian helped Fredo with Sophia and I said bye to Selena before Fredo and I headed home.

“Hey man, you should convince Sophia to go to prom,” I told Fredo as we drove home.

“I was thinking the same thing, bro, but how do I ask her?” Fredo asked me.

I thought about it for a while and then I got the perfect idea.

Selena’s POV:

I had just hung up the phone with Justin. He told me this great idea he had for Fredo to ask Sophia to go to prom with him. I thought that his idea was perfect but I needed to do my part so the plan could work out so I walked over to Sophia’s room.

“Hey Soph, your softball coach talked to mom today. She said that your team had a game. We should go and support them,” I said as I sat on her bed with her.

“I don’t wanna go,” she said, “hey look at this Sel,” she said, pointing to her feet. I looked down at her feet and I saw that she could wiggle her toes a little bit.

“Wow Soph! That is awesome! You are really working hard at therapy huh?” I asked her.

“Well it is a bitch but I just wanna start walking already,” she told me, looking upset.

“You’re a tough girl, you’ll start walking in no time,” I said, grabbing her hand to comfort her.

“I hope so,” she replied. “If we do go to the softball game, do you think we can leave if I start getting sad?”

“Of course Soph, just say the word, and we’ll leave.” I reassured her.

“Ok then, I wanna go,” she said with a smile. “Can you hand me my uniform and some jean shorts from my closet?” she asked. I grabbed them and then helped her get dressed.

“I’m sorry you have to do this Sel,” she apologized.

“Hey, you’re my sister. I wouldn’t trade doing this for anything in the world. I know that if I was in your position, you would do the same for me.” I told her.

“Well…” she teased, making it seem like she wouldn’t do it. “ Just kidding, you know I would do it in a heartbeat.”

“You’re such a dork,” I laughed. “You want me to carry you to your chair?” I asked.

“You’re not strong enough to carry me Sel. I weigh more than you do,” she told me.

“Hey! I’m a lot stronger than I seem to be!” I exclaimed. Sophia wrapped her arms around my neck and I picked her up bridal style. I carefully picked her up and sat her down on the wheelchair.

“You see, I told you I could do it,” I said sticking my tongue out to her.

“Well I must admit you proved me wrong,” Sophia admitted. I pushed Sophia to the living room, ready to go to the game.

“Soph can I have a ride?” Lily asked her. Lily loved sitting on Sophia’s lap while we pushed her on the wheelchair.

“Of course,” she said, picking Lily up and putting her on her lap.

“Let’s go!” I yelled out to my parents. They both walked into the living room and then we took off to the game.

-

We got to the game and we pushed Sophia towards the stands so we could all sit down.

“Look Sophia!” Lily yelled pointing to her softball team. The entire softball team was wearing a pink shirt that had Sophia’s name and number in the back of it.

Sophia put her hands over her mouth, gasping at what her team had done for her. When the people in the stands saw Sophia, they all stood up and began clapping and cheering for her. There were some posters that also had Sophia’s name and number on it and one that said, “Win it for Sophia!”

Sophia’s eyes began to tear up when she saw how supportive everybody was being. We all sat on the stands and Justin came a few minutes later.

“Where’s Fredo?” Sophia asked when she saw Justin.

“He said he was coming in a couple of minutes,” he replied.

Just then, the girls from both softball teams walked towards the center of the field and stood there all in a line.

“Sophia, please turn your attention to the center of the field for a little surprise,” the announcer told Sophia through the microphone. My mom quickly took out her camera to record everything. Sophia, who looked completely confused quickly turned around and looked towards the field.

The girls from the softball team both moved away from the center of the field, revealing the word PROM? made out of softballs with Fredo standing in the middle of the field with flowers in his arms.

Sophia’s face got so red and her mouth dropped open. She put her hands over her mouth in disbelief and tears started rolling down her cheek. “Look it’s Fredo!” Lily yelled pointing to the field. Again, we all started laughing at Lily.

“So will you go to prom with him?” the announcer asked Sophia.

Sophia nodded her head up and down, still speechless, with a huge smile on her face. Fredo quickly ran over to us and handed her the flowers, then placed a kiss on her lips.

“Here babe,” Justin whispered in my ear, handing me an envelope. I opened the envelope and took out two prom tickets.

“What’s this for?” I asked him confused.

“Well since we both never got to go to prom, I convinced Sophia’s principal to let us crash the prom too.” he said with a smirk on his face. “It’s not as great as the way Fredo did it, but will you go to prom with me baby?” he asked.

“Of course!” I said excitedly as I gave Justin a hug. “This is going to be so much fun!”
