Justin’s POV:

“Sophia don’t-” Mandy called out while Sophia walked out of the waiting room and slammed the door behind her. Selena began crying again, putting her face into her hands. Her parents both sat in the chairs next to her and tried to calm her down and Fredo sat down next to me, not saying a word.

“I’m so sorry” I apologized, my voice cracking from me trying to hold back the tears. Fredo looked so tense and hurt, he couldn’t even look me in the eye. I decided it would be best to leave Fredo alone so I just stopped talking to him.

“I’m gonna go check on Sophia,” I let Selena know, kissing her head and then walked out of the waiting room. I looked around the hospital until I finally saw Sophia, sitting in the hallway with her knees to her chest and her faced tucked into her knees, crying, holding on to Lily’s teddy bear. I slowly walked over to her, not knowing how she would react, and sat down next to her, not saying anything. I carefully placed my arm over her shoulders and hugged her. Thankfully she didn’t get mad.

“J-Justin, she’s gonna be ok right?” Sophia sobbed, hugging the teddy bear into her chest. Even though Sophia was already a mother and almost a wife, I always forget that she’s just an eighteen year old teenager. This must be so hard for her to go through.

“If she’s as tough as her mom, she’s gonna be fine Soph. I promise,” I tried to reassure her, hugging her tightly. She cried, leaning her head on my arm for a couple of more minutes until we saw Fredo coming down the hall.

“Baby the doctor is in the waiting room, we’re waiting for you,” Fredo said, extending his arm out to help Sophia up. We all got up and walked back to the waiting room together.

“Soph, please don’t be mad at Selena. Blame me for everything. I’m so sorry,” I whispered to her before we went into the room.

“No Justin I’m sorry. I don’t blame any of you all. I know it was just an accident. I just hope she’s ok,” she said back, holding my hand as we entered the room. Selena was sitting in between Mandy and Brian and was still crying, her eyes were red and puffy and she looked like she was shaking. Sophia walked over to Selena and sat on her lap, hugging her tightly and whispering something in her ear before kissing Selena’s head.

Selena’s POV:

Fredo opened the door and walked into the room, while Sophia and Justin followed close behind. I couldn’t stop my body from shaking because of how nervous I was to hear what the doctor had to say about Lily’s condition. Sophia let go of Justin’s hand and walked up to me before sitting on my lap and wrapped her arms around me.

“I love you and I’m sorry,” she whispered to me. I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders, knowing that Sophia had forgiven me, but there was still the worry about Lily’s condition. I wrapped my arms around Sophia as we waiting for the doctor to start talking.

“I’m guessing you’re Lily’s mother?” the doctor asked, pointing to Sophia.

“Yes” she whispered, nodding her head up and down.

“Well, Ms. Gomez, it looks like we finally got Lily in a stable condition. She had a concussion, bruised ribs, she has stitched on her forehead and chin and a broken arm, so we put her in a cast.” he explained.

“Like mother, like daughter,” Sophia joked. She looked a bit happier knowing that Lily was going to be fine.

The doctor laughed a little before continuing. “We’re going to keep her over night to check on her concussion, but she should be good to go home tomorrow. However, because of her bruised ribs, you’re going to have to be really careful when you move her around because it is going to be painful.” he explained. We all nodded our head up and down, understanding what the doctor was telling us.

“Can we see her?” I asked him as soon as he finished explaining.

“Sure, she’s in room 212,” he said. He shook all of our hands before he left the waiting room.

“Thank god she’s ok,” I whispered to myself. Sophia grabbed my hand as we all stood up to go see lily. Justin and my dad carried Jazzy and Jaxon who had fallen asleep on the chairs before we all walked to the room.

“Momma!” Lily yelled as soon as she saw Sophia enter her room. “Oww!” she cried, putting her little hand over her ribs.

“Don’t move baby,” Sophia said, sitting next to Lily on her bed.

“It hurts momma,” she complained.

“I know baby, just try to stay still,” Sophia told her.

“How are you doing baby girl?” Fredo asked, moving closer to the bed.

“I have a cast like momma now!” she said, lifting her arm up from out of the blanket, revealing a purple cast.

“Oh that is so cool Lily!” Justin joked. I kept my distance from Lily, still feeling guilty. Her face was full of cuts and seeing the stitches on her made my heart break. Lily whispered something into Sophia’s ear and then looked over to me.

“Of course not baby,” Sophia told her back. “Lily asked if you were mad at her,” she said, looking over to me.

“Of course I’m not mad at you Lil. Why would you think that?” I asked.

“Because you don’t wanna get near me,” Lily said.

“I’m sorry baby.” I apologized, getting closer to her bed, and then kissing her head.

“I love you Aunt Seena,” Lily smiled, reaching her hand out and grabbed mine.

“I love you too Lily. I’m so happy you’re ok,” I smiled back.

“Momma can you and Aunt Seena lay down with me and sing me a song?” Lily asked, patting her little hand on her bed. Sophia looked over to me to see what I wanted to do.

“Of course we will Lily,” I said, carefully laying down next to her while Sophia laid down on the other side. “What song do you want us to sing?” I asked.

“Who Says!” she said eagerly. My parents went to the cafeteria to get some food while Justin and Fredo sat down on the couch next to the bed and we all began singing to Lily until she slowly fell asleep.
