Selena’s POV:
I woke up to Sophia’s alarm ringing. She quickly turned off her alarm I’m guessing so she wouldn’t wake me up. I started moving around in her bed when I heard her get up. “Sorry,” she whispered to me. “It’s ok,” I replied. “Why are you waking up so early?” I asked her.
“I have to wake up Lily so she can get ready for school and not miss the bus and then I have to start getting ready for school so I won’t miss the bus either,” she told me while I started to get out of bed.
“Oh yeah, I forgot you all went to school,” I giggled rubbing my eyes trying to keep them from closing. “I’ll take you all to school,” I told Sophia, “you all don’t have to go on the bus anymore.”
“Sel it’s okay,” she replied while she went into her restroom to brush her teeth, “we’re use to going on the bus. You don’t have to wake up early everyday for us.” she told me.
“Soph, mom and dad are always up by like 5. If I won’t take you, they will. Trust me.” I joked while I went into my room to start changing. “Thanks” she said while she walked into Lily’s room to wake her up.
“Lil, sweetie wake up. It’s time for school,” I heard Sophia telling Lily and then I heard Lily start to whine. “I don’t wanna go to school Soph.” she moaned. I giggled while I picked out some clothes to wear. I got put on some sweats and one of Justin’s shirts and then went to check on Lily.
“Hey little girl. Are you ready for school?” I asked, walking into he room. “Seena I don’t wanna go to school,” she complained back. I sat down on her bed and she came and sat on my lap.
“Aww well I tell you what. If you go to school, I’ll have a surprise for you when you get back home. Deal?” I asked. “Deal!” she yelled as she ran out of her room downstairs to eat some breakfast.
I walked into Sophia’s room to check if she was done. “Hey, you ready?” I asked her. “Yeah,” she replied as we both walked downstairs. “Where’s mommy and daddy?” Lily asked me. “They went to some meetings they needed to go to for you and Sophia,” I explained to her. We got into the car and headed to Lily’s school.
“But who’s gonna walk me to my classroom?” she asked as we pulled up to her school.
“Lil, I’ll walk you to your classroom, don’t worry,” Sophia told her as she got down with Lily. “I’ll walk you too,” I added putting my car in park. “Are you sure you wanna do that Sel?” Sophia asked me. “The kids are gonna go crazy when they see you,” she said.
“I want Seena to come too!” Lily exclaimed. We both laughed and grabbed Lily by the hand.
“Look it’s Selena Gomez!!” the kids started yelling and running towards us. So many kids ran towards us that the older kids started pushing Lily away from me. “Selena! Selena!” the kids yelled while I panicked to look for Lily. “Hi guys,” I said trying to be polite.
“Lily where are you?!” I heard Sophia yell. “Seena! Sophia!! Help!” we heard Lily screaming. “Guys please move!” I heard Sophia yell at them while she shoved some of the kids out of the way. The school’s security guard came and tried to help. “Lily!” I yelled but I couldn’t see her. Once more of the kids got out of the way, I saw Lily on the ground crying.
“Please move,” I told the kids, “I’m trying to get to my little sister.” I finally reached Lily and picked her up. She tucked her head into my neck and continued crying. “It’s ok Lily, I got you.” I whispered to her trying to calm her down.
“Lily are you okay?!” Sophia asked as she got closer to me. Lily reached out for Sophia. “They stepped on my hands,” Lily cried. Sophia grabbed her hands and gave both of them a kiss. “Seena too?” she asked slowly as she stopped crying. I grabbed Lily’s hand and gave them a kiss as we carried her into her classroom. “I love you Lil,” Sophia and I said as we waved. “Bye!” she yelled and ran to play with her friends.
We got back into my car and then I took Sophia to her high school. “Sophia can I ask you a question?” I asked. “Sure,” she replied looking out the window. “Why were you so close to Lily while you all where at the foster and adoption home? I mean, there were more little girls there but you and Lily seemed like you were really close.” I said. Sophia looked at me with some tears in her eyes. “What is it?” I asked worried that I made her upset.
“Sel, you have to promise not to say anything. Not even to Mandy or Brian. I‘m really trusting you.” she told me. “Okay I promise,” I told her, worried. “Lily is my daughter,” she told me while tears started falling down her cheeks. “I got pregnant when my foster dad raped me, when I was 12 years old.”
“What?!” I asked in shocked. I couldn’t believe what Sophia had just told me. Lily was Sophia’s daughter.
