Selena’s POV:

It was the day of Sophia’s graduation and we were all getting ready at home. I slipped on a pink dress that I had bought a while ago and finished putting on my makeup. Once I was ready, I went in to Sophia’s room to check if she was ready and saw that she was trying to put on her heels.

“Need some help?” I asked her when I saw her struggling to reach her feet.

“Yes please,” she said, handing me her heels. I grabbed them and knelt down to put her heels on.

“There you go,” I told her as I finished strapping the last heel. “You ready for your speech Ms. Valedictorian?” I asked her.

“I’m so nervous. I don’t wanna talk in front of a huge crowd. I don’t know how the heck you do it, but I don’t want to.” she told me.

“You’ll do great Soph! If you get nervous, just look at us, and I’m more than sure that Justin, Fredo and I will make you laugh and forget about everybody.” I reassured her. “Come on, lets go,” I said while I pushed her to the car to take off to the graduation.

-

“And now, you’re class valedictorian, Sophia Lynn Gomez, giving her valedictorian speech.” the speaker announced. Somebody from the stage got up and pushed Sophia to the center of the stage and handed her the microphone while everybody clapped and cheered.

“Go Sophia!!” we all yelled in unison, my mom recording everything with her camera. We saw a bit of commotion going on at the doors and then we saw Taylor coming in. the security escorted her to where we were sitting and she sat down next my mom and I. “Hey Tay! Thanks so much for coming!” I told her.

“Of course! I wanted to officially meet your sister,” she told me and then said hi to Justin, Fredo, Lily, and my parents.

Sophia took out her speech and began to talk.

“ I know all my classmates and I know how we are, so I’m going to make this as short as possible,” she said. Everybody began to laugh as Sophia continued her speech about her class and the wonderful times she had in school.

“And of course, I have to talk about my amazing family,” she said. “Words cannot even begin to express just how lucky I am to have my family. Mom and dad,” she said looking up to us, “ you guys are my everything. I am thankful each and everyday that I am a part of your lives and that you show me everyday how much you guys love me. Mom, thank you for being there for me when I needed you the most and putting up with me, because I know I can be a pain sometimes,” she said as we all began to laugh. “thank you for taking care of me, and being my light when I was at a very dark place in my life. Brian, you may not be my biological father, but to me, you are my one and only dad. Thank you for protecting me when things got crazy and loving me like I was your own daughter.” she said. I looked over to my parents who were both starting to tear up.

“Selena and Lily,” she continued saying. Everybody began cheering when she said my name, “ you all are the greatest sisters that anybody could ever ask for. Selena, thank you so much for everything that you have done for me and making sure everyday that your little sisters are always smiling. Thank you for helping me while I try and recover and never complaining when I ask for your help. Lily, I love you like crazy. Thank you for the all the laughs that you bring to mommy, daddy, Seena, and me. You make our lives so much happier. I love you baby girl.” she said as Lily started waving to Sophia. “And of course, Justin and Alfredo, thank you guys for everything. I honestly can not tell you how thankful I am to have you guys in my life.” she finished saying.

She finished her speech and the crowd started cheering before they started to play Taylor’s song, “Long Live.” The graduation finished and we met up with Sophia.

“Soph, this is Taylor,” I introduced them.

“ I am a huge fan,” Sophia told Taylor as she gave her a hug. “Thank you for coming.”

“Of course!” Taylor exclaimed, “ and congrats!” We all talked for a while before we decided to go home.

-

As we got home, we noticed a lot of cars in our driveway. “What’s going on?” I asked my mom.

“Oh well, we’re having a graduation dinner for Sophia. We invited over some friends and family,” she explained.

We all got out of the car and headed inside. The whole house was decorated with graduation things and there were a lot of people there. We introduced Sophia and Lily to a lot of my family members and some family friends. I pushed Sophia into the kitchen, where I saw a very familiar face. “Sel, you’re godfather, Tony, is here,” my mom told me. Tony was my mom and Brian’s best friend for a while now and he was also my godfather.

“Hi Tony!” I smiled as I gave him a hug. “I haven’t seen you in so long!”

“I know!” he replied, “I remember you being this big the last time I saw you!” he said, sticking out his hand to show me how small I was the last time I saw him.

“Tony, this is my little sister Sophia,” I told him, introducing Sophia to him. Sophia looked really uneasy and gave him a crooked smile. Tony saw how weird Sophia was being and began to giggle.

“Soph, what’s wrong?” I whispered to her.

“I don’t feel that good,” she responded. “ I wanna go lay down for a bit,” she said, backing up her wheelchair herself.

“Where you going baby?” Fredo asked as he met us in the kitchen.

“ I don’t feel good and I wanna go lay down for a bit,” Sophia told him. He picked her up and took her to my room because her room was downstairs and everything was going to be too loud for her, while I talked with the rest of our guests.

-

Justin’s POV:

“ Hey beautiful,” I told Selena when I saw her walking around her house.

“Hi baby,” she said, giving me a kiss. “ Have you eaten?” I asked him.

“No not yet. I am hungry though,” I admitted.

“Hey Jay, let’s get something to eat!” Fredo yelled as he got closer to us. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear anything.

“You guys go and eat, I’m gonna go check on Sophia,” she told us. “I’ll come down in a bit.” we both nodded and headed to the kitchen while Selena went upstairs to her bedroom.

Selena’s POV:

I walked upstairs to go check on Sophia. I opened the door and saw that Sophia was crying.

“Soph what’s wrong?” I asked her confused. She was hugging the bear that Fredo had gotten her tightly.

“Sel, it’s your godfather,” she cried back.

“What about Tony?” I asked very confused.

“H-he was my f-foster dad. H-he was the one that raped me. T-that’s Lily’s father,” she cried out. I looked at Sophia in shock from what she had just told me. Sophia immediately stopped crying and started staring at something that was behind me. I quickly turned around to see what she was looking at and saw Tony leaning on my doorway, staring at Sophia and me.
