Selena’s POV:

I hung up with Justin and got on twitter.

Big day today for my family. Can’t wait! (:

I tweeted before picking out some clothes that I was going to wear today. I can’t believe this was happening. For eighteen years now, I have prayed to have a little brother or sister every night and it was about to come true. So many thoughts were going through my head.

Are we getting a boy or a girl? How old will he/she be? What is his/her name going to be? I hope I’ll be a great role model for them.

“Selena, honey are you ready?” My mom asked as she knocked on the door. “Almost!” I replied. “Are you excited, mom?” I asked while I was putting on my shoes. “Of course I am. Brian and I have been wanting to add another wonderful child to this family and we thought that maybe God had another plan for us when he took Scarlett. Maybe he wanted us to have a child that was in need of a good family, and a child that needs a great older sister to guide her as he/she grows up.”

I smiled thinking about all the things that I would do for my little brother or sister, anything to make them a great person just like my momma raised me.

“Alright, you ready to go?” my mom asked as I nodded. We walked downstairs hand in hand meeting Brian in the living room and then walking to the car. “This is it.” as said to myself.

Justin’s POV:

I had just finished an interview when I felt my phone vibrate.

On our way to the foster and adoption home. Pretty excited! (: I’ll call you when we’re out and let you know how everything goes. I love you!

I texted her back. Okay babe (: good luck. I got on twitter and tweeted He/she is going to be one lucky person! Pretty excited for you. I clicked the tweet button andthen went back into the room for another interview.

Selena’s POV:

We pulled up to the foster and adoption home and was greeted by a very nice lady named Ms. Scott. “Hello! Welcome come on in” she said to us while she shook all of our hands. We walked into the building that reminded me of the house that Annie lived in from the movie with all of the little orphan girls except I didn’t see any kids walking around.

“This way!” she directed as we stepped into her office. Ms. Scott looked like a very nice person but she seemed like she had a really mean side to her. “So you’re here looking to adopt or foster a child?” she asked my mom and Brian.

“Adopt” they said in unison grabbing each others hands. Ms. Scott pulled out a folder that said Adoption in bold letters. “Will you be wanting a boy or girl? And what age do you prefer?”

My parents looked at each other and then at me and asked me what my opinion was. “I really don’t care mom.” I responded, “it’s whatever you guys prefer. I’m going to love him or her no matter what.”

Right when my parents were about to decide what they wanted, a girl walked into the office. “Umm Ms. Scott, I’m sorry to bother you, but I’m just letting you know that I’m going to school now and I won’t be back till night time because I have a softball game today.” she explained to her then looked at me. “Oh my gosh! You’re Selena Gomez!” she said excitedly.

“Hi nice to meet you” I said as I gave her a hug. “I’m a really big fan,” she told me. “Aww well thank you!” I responded and then Ms. Scott bit back at her. “Sophia! How many times do I have to tell you not to interrupt when I have people in my office!” she yelled at her as she stood up and grabbed her by her arm and kicked her out of the room.

“I’m sorry” she explained to her before leaving the room. “ You just always get angry at me when I don’t come back after school so I thought I would tell you before.” she said. “Bye” she said to me and my parents before leaving the room with tears in her eyes.

I looked at my mom when Sophia had left and I saw that my mom was holding Brian’s hand tighter than ever. “How long has she been here?” she asked Ms. Scott almost in tears.

“Who? Oh Sophia? She’s been here for almost 15 years now. She was adopted when she was a baby but when she was 2, her parents were in an accident and she was sent to foster care. She was in a few foster homes but some problems always came up and she was sent here again to wait out until she turns 18 and then she’ll have to be on her own.” she explained.

My mom began crying into Brian’s shoulders and then ran out of the building. I was so confused as to why she was acting like that. I mean I bet Sophia has had a pretty rough life but I don’t think my mom would cry that hard for her. Brian and I told Ms. Scott that we would come back another day and ran outside after my mom.

There was something that she wasn’t telling me but I didn’t understand what it was. Did my mom know her family? Did she know her real parents? We drove home in silence.
