Selena’s POV:
We pulled up to the house after about 30 minutes of being on the road. Sophia and I couldn’t get over how mad our mom was getting whenever we would tease each other. Brian opened the trunk and got Sophia’s wheelchair ready.
“Mom we need to bring a pillow from now on cuz Selena is so boney and she is not comfortable to lean on.” she teased one last time. I opened my mouth, acting very hurt by what she had said.
“Sophia Lynn, that is enough!” my mom said. Sophia and I both started to giggle and then Brian, who was also laughing at my mom, got Sophia and placed her in the wheelchair.
“I’m so excited to see Lily,” she said as we took her into the house. Lily had been staying at the house with Fredo and Justin. They were kind enough to offer to take her to school and take care of her while we were at the hospital.
We all went into the kitchen and saw a ton of flowers, balloons, teddy bears, and get well cards. “Whoa, where did this come from,” I said.
Justin came inside from the backyard when he saw that we had gotten home already.
“Hey guys,” he said, giving everybody a hug and me a kiss.
“How are you feeling Soph?” he asked.
“Better. Thanks for the flowers Jay. And thanks for taking care of Lily,” she said.
“Of course.” he replied.
“Justin where did all these things come from?” I asked him.
“Some of them were outside of the gate, a lot from fans hoping that Sophia was ok and some were sent by other people. I know Demi sent Sophia some flowers, and so did Usher, and my mom.” he explained.
“All these people sent ME flowers?” Sophia asked shocked. “Wow.”
“Where’s Lily?” my mom asked.
“She’s outside in the pool. Fredo is watching over her.” he said. We all went into the backyard to go say hi to Lily.
“Sophia!!!” Lily yelled when she saw her. She got out of the pool and ran to us.
“Be careful Lily. Don’t jump on her.” my mom said. Lily gave Sophia a gentle hug and got her all wet.
“Oops. Sorry,” Lily giggled noticing that she got Sophia a little wet.
“I want a wet hug too!” I teased. Lily ran over to me and jumped into my arms.
“Seena go swimming with me!” Lily exclaimed. “Oh no Lil, I don’t feel like it right now.” I said. Justin quickly wrapped his arms around me and picked me up bridal style.
“No! Justin you better not!” I yelled, knowing what he was planning on doing.
“Sophia, should I do it?” he teased.
“Well she was being mean to me on the way over here,” she said with an evil look in her eye. “I say you do it,” she said.
Justin ran to the pool and tossed me in.
“Justin!!” I yelled.
“Sophia told me to do it!” he joked, then jumped into the pool with me. He swam over to me a gave me a kiss. “Catch me Seena!” Lily said, standing next to the pool. I reached out my arms and Lily jumped into them.
Sophia’s POV:
I was glad I was finally home and watching Lily play with Selena and Justin.
“What do you feel like eating Sophia?” Brian asked me.
“Anything sounds better than hospital food right now,” I said.
“How about I grill some burgers and we can all be out here?” he asked.
“That sounds great dad,” I said. Fredo came over to me and pushed me closer to the pool.
“How are you feeling?” he asked me as he sat down next to me on a chair. “Better now,” I said grabbing his hand and smiling. “Thank you for taking care of Lily,” I told him.
“It was my pleasure.” he said smiling. “Lily is a great kid.”
“Thank you,” I told him.
“Do you know what happened to her real parents?” Fredo asked me. I didn’t realize that we hadn’t told him about Lily and me. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to tell him the truth about Lily because then maybe, everything would be different now, and he wouldn’t see me the same anymore.
“Uh well,” I said hesitantly, “Lily… is my daughter. When I was raped by my foster dad, I got pregnant with her. I was only twelve. Lily doesn’t know though.” I said, a few tears piling up. I didn’t even want to look at Fredo, afraid that he was disgusted or something.
I felt his hand grab my chin and then he moved my face to his face. His thumb gently stroked away the tears that were coming down my cheek.
“You are the strongest person that I know Sophia. I never thought that I could love Lily more than I did, but now I love her and her mom even more,” he told me, placing a kiss on my lips.
“Ooo Fredo kissed Sophia!” we heard Lily tease. We all bursted out in laughter.
