Imagine:

I open my eyes as I feel a weird sensation. I look around and my eyes land on someone.

"Shawn?" I whisper. I vaguely make out his smile through my half open eyes. He seems to be still holding me, but he's walking upstairs.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask sleepily.

"To your room. You're staying over at Y/bff/n's tonight aren't you?"

I nod my head and yawn, wanting to go back to sleep. "What time is it?" I ask Shawn.

"About 2 in the morning now. Cam and Brian have gone home now. And Nash... well uh, he's still..."

I giggle at him and lean in closer to his chest.

Shawn plants me on the bed in Y/bff/n's spare room and I try to sit up, but Shawn lays me down again.

"I need to change Shawn," I say, yawning again. "I think you should go home now too."

He laughs and lies down beside me. "I'm staying here tonight with you, if you don't mind?"

I roll over onto my side and smile at Shawn. "You're so cute Shawn."

I wrap my arms around his neck and rest my head on his shoulder. He places an arm at my waist and rests his chin on my head.

"I don't think I'm tired anymore Shawn," I whisper. "Why don't you get some rest? I'll watch over you until I feel sleepy."

"I can't let my girlfriend stay awake by herself now can I?"

My heart skips a beat. I face up and try to find his eyes in the dim light from the moon outside. "What did you say?"

"I said I can't let you-"

"No, you called me your girlfriend..."

I catch him smirking and he laughs a little. "Did I call you that? I think you were dreaming."

My cheeks flush slightly at his words, even though I know that he's teasing me.

He places a hand on my cheek and rubs it with his thumb. "I'm kidding. I don't think I even asked. Would you, Y/n Y/l/n like to be my girlfriend?"

I giggle at his question and reach up to kiss the side of his jaw. "I would very much like that Shawn Mendes."

He takes my hand in his and locks our fingers together, our fingers fitting perfectly like they were made for each other.

I close my eyes and listen to the faint beating of Shawn's heart, his chest rising and falling as he falls asleep. I want to stay awake and protect him, but my tired eyes feel heavy, so I give in, falling into a dream of Shawn and me.
